Anyone hate the Yankees as much as I do???

Yikes, I havent even looked at this thread, and just decided to peek in and never thought 'us gals' would get this 'heated' about SPORTS !!!

I grew up a METS FAN, all my memories are at Shea Stadium, all my pictures (of YEARSSS ago) are of/with the Mets, Kevin Elster, Ron Darling, Daryl Strawberry, David Cone, etc etc. We (along with bedda26 who is my best friend) would go to games right after school, sit right behind the dugouts (we went so often that they got to know us and let us sit anywhere there was an empty seat )
we'd scream and chant, take tons of pictures, yell and blow kisses to the cuties (Kevin Elster was our favorite!- I think we were on the bordelines of groupies! ) I knew every name and every position, and every fact of every game... those were the days...

BUT, I have to say, although I havent followed baseball in quite a number of years, I never was and never will be bitter, hostile or negative toward the Yankees.

Im a New Yorker, born and bred, and that's where my heart is.

Thank you everyone for the postive feedback on my post. I myself am quite impressed with how much a lot of people on this site know about baseball.

Wendy, I loved your posts and I can tell that you know a lot about baseball and other sports as well. You and I would have a lot to talk about it we ever got to meet

Jenn I am the sports freak in my house!! Hubby watches the Yankees with me but that is about as far as his interests go. I think we would have a lot to talk about too! Your posts really were excellent!!!

This morning Good Day NY was at Nativity BVM in Ozone Park (my parish) interviewing Sister Margarette Torre. She is the sister to Joe Torre.

It was so cute seeing all the kids waving yankee flags, wearing jerseys, (when the Yanks are in the World Series Sister Margarette tells the kids they dont have to wear their uniforms the whole time of the series) and cheering

I wondered how many of those kids really are Yankees fans. Some may not be, but they were all waving flags, cheering and being happy. Why because the principal of their school brother's team is in the World Series.
So in support of her and her family they cheer.

It was great. It really made me proud to be from Ozone Park and seeing the Yankees in the series.
