God I can't stand them. Why do they always have to win??? To me I think a team like that cubs deserved to win the world series or Florida. These are teams that havent one in years and years. But the Yankees??? come the last time they won was in 2000. So they havent won in three years boo hoo cry me a river they only won four in row before from 1996-2000. I can't root for a team like that! It's boring to see them win all the time. And I can't stand Jeter and Soriano, I feel like throwing tomatoes at my TV whenever they are up. Well this distraught Mets Fan is voting for the Florida...So lets go Marlins!!!

A good friend of mine is a die hard island fan. I dont like hockey at all. (Never been to a hockey game. I even won tickets to a game and gave them to my friend)
But I loved to torture my die hard islander fan friend by clipping all the articles and pictures and scores of the games they lost. When the season was over and the Rangers beat them (remember not a hockey fan ) for some playoff I finalized the scrapbook with those clippsings right on the cover.
Yea he wasn't too thrilled about that

Well, I come from a long line of Yankee fans, and am I DIEHARD myself. However, I agree with the girls who root for a NY team if there is one to root for. I don't HATE the Mets. I never rrot against them. When they play the Yankees, I root for the Yanks, but that is different. I only root against the Red Sox. I was thrilled when the Mets beat them in 86 and was beside myself with joy last night.
I just don't understand this whole 'the Yankees always win' mantra. They have had tremendous success under Joe Torre. But if all of the people here who claim to be life long baseball fans are truly that, then I don't have to remind you of the days of not so long ago when the Yankees weren't doing so well at all.
People make it seem like the Yankees have 75 rings or something. Yes, they have won more than most, but the majority of those wins came at a time when the Yankees hade some tremendous players and who stayed with one or two teams for their entire career. You don't see that anymore.
How many CAREER players are there anymore? Not many. One of the things that I love about this Yankee team is that there are so many of them who have been there for most, if not all, of this ride. With a few exceptions the Yankees of the 80s were a revolving door of players. It wasn't worth getting used to anyone.
I hate to say that I agree with Misty that this probably wont last much longer. And that is the only thing Misty said that I agree with Our pitching stars are getting older. When the team starts to lose, I am sure that George will start chopping off heads.
But I am sure enjoying it for however long it lasts.

Die-hard Mets fan here. Was actually a Mets ballgirl for 3 years and bled orange/blue.
You don't know how bad I was hoping for a Red Sox/Cubs World Series. Like many other posters said, I am tired of the Yankees. Sure they play hard and ultimately deserve to be there, but look at the Cubs/Red Sox...they haven't won since 1908 and 1918 respectively.
I do have to say I'll be rooting for the Marlines....

Hate the yankees???? NO WAY!!! They work very hard and deserve the best!! Yes, 2000...and this is a long time for us not to have a world series win. Us YANKEE fans were craving another world series bc thats what we are used to!! So....here we go again....I have a feeling its gonna be another sweep!!!! LETS GO YANKEES
