ANYONE HAVE FH WITH DIVORCED PARENTS?

ANYONE HAVE FH WITH DIVORCED PARENTS?

My FH's parents are divorced and are not very cordial to one another. We are having only two attendants at our wedding--an MOH and a BM--so the rehearsal dinner will be small. FH says that parents can't both be at dinner because they won't get along. I don't know what to do. He says to not invite his dad (his dad is remarried and has two children), but I just think it's terrible. I suppose he knows them best.

Anyone else in this situation?

It's so difficult. I had things that I really wanted to do--one of which was to have dinner on my wedding night with my parents and his parents, and we can't do that either

My parents are divorced and don't get along with each other at all. I asked them to be adults for 2 nights out of their lives and attend the rehearsal dinner and wedding without crying about it. Although, they did say absolutely not to attending an engagement party, so we didn't have one.

It's a sad situation, but I'm not going to let their immaturity ruin my day!

My FH's parents are divorced. FH's father is not invited to the rehearsal dinner because FMIL is paying and FFIL lives out in Florida.

I know it's a hard thing when parents are divorced and not in the best of terms BUT for your sake they should remain civil at least for the wedding and any wedding related gathering.

my parents are divorced and they are being 'adult' enough to at least be in the room together, for this occasion. Have you guys talked to them, after all it's your wedding, they obviously haven't grown up this whole time, with children to consider, than I would put my foot down and tell them, 'grow the **** up, for our special day!'

It might sound harsh, but that is the way I feel if my parents pulled this. I am so tired of parents making a mess of their life, and still dragging the kids into it. If it does not stop for the wedding, how will it be for future holidays, grandchildren, etc.

My e-party went smooth, so I hope the wedding will too. Of course pictures will be fake smiles, but they know to be on their best behavior, for ME & FH!!!

I'm with Jenny2penny on this one..

Todd's mother and father HATE each other. Ever see War of the Roses? We all laugh and swear that the movie was made after them..

I'm the one with the divorced parents...I basically told them - its my day, you are all invited - if you can't put things in the past for one day and act like adults - don't come!

I guess I'll have to see what happens next year!!! But I'm confident it will work out (considering the occassion!)

GOOD LUCK

My husband's parents are divorced and both remarried. My husband's father has not really been present all that much in my husband's life and his mother was. We invited both sets of parents to the engagement party (his father and step mom did not attend-made up some lame excuse about the traffic). His mother gave us some money towards the rehearsal dinner. His Dad did not offer us any money at all. Therefore, we did not invite his dad to the rehearsal dinner because we figured since his mother is paying, she should not be uncomfortable. For our wedding, we just put them at separate tables and the room was big enough for them to keep their distance.
