my sister bought me TIVO and its complicated (for me) to hook up. I need a telephone jack nearby. Its a pain in the a$$. My friend said she has the service through Cablevision- without the phone jack hookup.. goes through cable. Does anyone have and what do they think of it?

Re: anyone have iO DVR- (Tivo) through cablevision?
Oooh, I'd love to know this. I looked on Cablevision's website and it says you have to call them for more info. I guess that means its expensive!?!?

I just called them... you need a special cable box but they will just replace the old one. it is $10 a month and you can record over 100 hours on it.
Not bad... maybe when I get my bump up in salary I will go for it!! I keep screwing up my shows, and I can't change the channel automatically anymore with IO... so I have to be home to change the channel to record whatever i want !! Pretty pathetic!

Not only is DVR $3 cheaper per month than tivo, but the installation of the box is only $40. Isn't the tivo box over $200? DVR is a much better deal than tivo! Let me know if you have any questions about it. I am thrilled with it!

We have the Time warner DVR and I love it. For cable, movie channels, the DVR and cable modem for the computer our bill is about $130 a month.

I was told I onyl have to trade in my cable box for a cable/DVR box. I dont have to pay anything up fron but do pay per month to have the box. SO my cable bill will just be $10 higher. I can deal with that!

Mike said that if you get a regular DVR box there is no charge. You can pick it up at any walk in center. If you have a HDTV then its a charge of 38.95 to instal it.
Bill will be 10.00 higher per box. And it records upto 110 hours of tv

Bill will just be $10 higher altogether, correct? or is the box $10 higher plus the $9.95 service. Im confused now..

LOL... Mike is such a nerd. We have a 32 inch tv in the bedroom and a 27 inch tv in the living room because the tv in the living room has more jacks (not that he uses them but just in case he wanted to he could) I hate going to best buy with him its a fight to get him out without a new HDTV. Im happy with my reagular tv. ITs FINE!!!! Im sure you feel the same way. Im jealous that you are getting the DVR though.

We just got it about 2 weeks ago and I LOVE it! I didn't think I would love it as much as I do. It's definitely worth the money!
