AAHHHHHH!!!! I'm getting so discouraged, because just by seeing Douglaston Manor (after the renovations they completed in April)...I fell in love with it!! But I'm reading bad reviews on here and it's scary!!
Some of the other places I've considered so far....
Sans Souci- Sea Cliff (fiance thinks it's too small, we're probably having around 160 people)
Metropolitan- Glen Cove (ditto- he thinks its too small, but we went for a tasting there...and the food was amazing!, I loved the decor)
Stewart Manor- loved the decor of the place (I liked the exposed wood beams) and they give you a great price....but I was concerned that if there's bad weather and we had the CH all indoors, it might be a little bit crowded...also didn't really care for the bridal suite
Larkfield Manor- I absolutely loved this place!!! The owners are very nice & accomodating, but my fiance doesn' t know if he wants to do Suffolk, since we're Queens folk!!
I'm going to check out Stuart Thomas Manor also- they have good prices.
I'm trying to keep my price at $85pp or under for a Saturday night in September/October. Anyone have suggestions??

Jericho Terrace is gorgeous !!! (but I'm biased) You could probably get them for $85-$90pp if you're a good negotiator and book early enough. I booked a year and a half in advance so if you want to check them out, i suggest you do it soon. They only do 2 weddings at a time. I was in the skylight room and it was spectacular!!!
JT actually does up to 4 weddings at a time...I know this because there were three other weddings going on when mine was. They tell brides they only do two at a time (this is what they told me when I booked) but it's apparently not the truth...

Try the Hamlet at Willow Creek... if you are willing to shoot for an afternoon I think they may be able to work close to your budget.
They might be a tiny hair over your pp - but they throw in a lot of 'extra' stuff at no cost... like a sushi bar and a REALLY low cost chocolate fountain ($500!!!).

Try the Hamlet Wind Watch, it is in Hauppauge right off the LIE on a golf course...You can get it for about $90 pp ($119 with tax and gruitity), the gaurantee is low, I think only 125 (I am having 160) and there is only 1 wedding at a time. Includes sushi bar, and chocolate fountain is $500. In addition, which was a big plus for me, the Hyatt Wind Watch Hotel is literally right next door, walking distance...
I liked the Stewart Thomas Manor a lot. They didn't have our date available so we had to go elsewhere, not to mention it was really far from the church. My manager is getting married at the Stewart Manor this Friday and it is georgous!!!

Chateau La Mer was around that price...it was really nice there and they have a unique entrance for teh bride and groom, I have never heard bad reviews either.(oo and it wasnt too far from Queens either!)

I was just married at The Miller Place Inn and it was great and reasonable!
Also The Vineyard Caterer is beautiful and affordable...I have been to a wedding there and it was lovely..
My cousin is getting married at The Brentwood Country Club and is very nice and affordable..

Have you looked at Cafe on the Green in Bayside? Along the Cross Island Parkway. If you google Cafe on the Green + Bayside, it should lead you to their official website. A friend of mine had his mothers 60th b-day party there, catered and dj-ed. The food was amazing, the service great, very attentive. The grounds are beautiful, and he managed to get them at $85 pp. There were about 85 ppl. They have different sized rooms also. i'm a little lost myself.
