a family member or close love one was in the hospital or (God forbid) died near your wedding day?

How did you deal?

My grandmother went into the hospital on Sunday, we just found out she had a massive stroke and has little brain activity. She is on a resperator and can't breath on her own. My family is pretty much going to have to decide what to do. I am really close with my grandma and it is hard to be happy for my upcoming wedding (this saturday).

Sorry for such a sad post.

Try to keep your spirits up. I am sure your grandmother would want it that way.

Hello all, thanks for your advice. We had our rehearsal dinner tonight and I can see the sadness in my families eyes. But once we got in to the spirit of the wedding, I did eventually see a smile on my families faces. Like you all said, Grandma would want me to be happy and celebrate our wedding day.

By the way, grandma is still in the same condition. Keep praying!!!!

YESSSSSSSSSSS! My uncle who had open heart surgery missed his first born son getting married (and my uncle was young). It was also the first wedding of his sons. My uncle made a speech on a tape recorder and they played it at the wedding. Well there wasn't a dry eye in the place. My cousin had the photo montage. So at least he was with us in spirit. I had him in the back of my mind the entire night.
