DH still hasn't bought an x-mas present for me because he said he had a Tivo in his hand but then put it back because that's more a present for the house than just for me. My SIL also brought up that Cablevision has the Tivo option and it might be cheaper per month.
For those that have it, is it worth it?

I LOVE Tivo! I bought it for DH as a birthday present 3 years ago and it was the best investment! I paid for the lifetime subscription upfront (I don't think they offer it anymore) and never have to pay it again.

I love it i can tape my favorite shows and watch them over and over. and if you want to take a nap. just play something and it will keep on playing.

I love it. The only thing I would change about it, is I don't like the fact that I cannot tape something and watch a different channel at the same time. Luckily, we have more than one tv.
But I tape Ugly Betty on Thursdays so I can watch the office with my FH in another room.
It really comes in handy when you are not going to be home.

I got the dual tuner for christmas ! I am so happy now i can tape 2 shows at once. I don't know what i would do with out it. When i am at opther people houses i try to rewind the tv and then realize they dont have tivo!! lol

Verizon Fios is now available in lot of areas on LI--they have lots of channels and are so much better. So many Cablevision customers are switching to them.
