Re: Anyone have TMJ?

my ins covered it... but i think the dentist said he wasnt charging it anyway b/c im getting other stuff done too.

i think out of pocket is around $50 max... i think it all depends on your dentist though, but i would think that all insurances would cover it (it saves alot of dental work.. and money on their part... down the line)

Re: Anyone have TMJ?

Hi I am a dental hygienist, and yes MOST insurances cover it in FULL. The TMJ appliance ( also called a night guard) is the BEST solution. In other posts on here the girls were right- like about gum- dont do it you wear out the cartlidge between your jaw bone and your temprol bone and when your TMJ acts up take advil and for 3 days you MUST stay on a SOFT food diet nothing chewy. DoNOt get the OTC ones they are not custom to your jaw and you will throw it off even more. and yes it takes a while getting use to you do feel like when you take it off that your mouth- jaw is out of position but it isnt your muscle is just super relaxed but its a strange feeling. If you have any questions FM me.

My sister has TMJ and she uses the night mouthpiece thing. Give it a try!
