FH and i are thinking about sending invites to family and really close friends first, wait for the replies to come in and then if we have room invite the B list which are friends from work and college.
What do you ladies think of this? Disaster waiting to happen or good idea?

Re: Anyone having a 'B' list??
I'm definitely having a B list... I need to so we don't max out the room. So I obviously think it's fine.

no *B* list
to be 100% honest, we are praying to be a little under our minimum b/c then we will get extra food thrown in

Re: Anyone having a 'B' list??
Nope! Our reg guest list just keeps goin up
How does it work though? How early do you need to send out invites to get the responses back and then send out the B-List invites with enough time to RSVP? How do you know how many invites to order? I think I'd feel bad if a person on the B-List knows they were my '2nd choice' b/c they get the invite long after the people on the regular list got theirs. jmo tho !

Re: Anyone having a 'B' list??
No. I think its a good idea but I am stressing out enough with one list. lol
Also then I have to worry about people on the A list talking to people on the B list and them realizing they got the invite 3 weeks later.... too much stress for me. lol

Re: Anyone having a 'B' list??
I am. But most of the people are co-workers who wouldn't care if they were B listed cuz they'd wanna party.

Re: Anyone having a 'B' list??
I was thinking the same thing.. what if people talk and find out they were not first choice to be invited. I dunno.. so confusing.. I want to meet my exact minimuk of 225 a couple under or over is ok but not extremely under or over .. if that makes sense lol

Re: Anyone having a 'B' list??
That was my main worry too!! I really don't want any one to have hurt feelings bc honestly it all comes down to money and if I had tons I would invite everyone!!!! I think the B list is going to be everyone in one circle of friends and really thats like 50 people (collehge soriety and fraternity)

Re: Anyone having a 'B' list??
I have a very small one, but it consists of my bubbie's friends (including 2 she has been friends with since there were 11) and some people from my mom's office and neighbors that we wish we could invite if we had more space.
B lists only work out if none of the people on the B list know/speak to anyone on the A list.
To avoid hurting too many people's feelings, you should send out invites to A list 10 weeks before and B list 6-7 weeks before -- if you dont give people enough time before rsvp date they will know what list they ended up on.

Re: Anyone having a 'B' list??
yes, we have a b list and i was originally going to have 2 sets of rsvp cards so that i could get all responses back and then send to the b list if necessary and they would still have time to respond and it wouldnt look weird. but anyway, i ended up having only 1 rsvp date and im going to just send my invites a little early and then when there are about 4 weeks left, ill see where were at with the headcount and ill send to the b list if i need to
