Anyone having HM issues?

We have no idea what to do....Anyone else in the same boat?

We know exactly where we want to go (Italy), but we have no idea of how to get started. It's our first trip out of the country together, other than Canada.

I am totally on the same boat. we have no idea where we want to go. Any island is out bc of hurricanes, we have discussed tahiti and hawaii, but nothing has WOW'ed us yet

nope, we knew exactly. FI hates the sun, I love cruises, bam an Alaskian Cruise. Luckily we even knew before we were engaged!

first things first

do you want to just relax and unwind?

do you want to sightsee?

do you want to go to a tropical place?

these are the few things we went over and we narrowed it down from there.

my fh also threw in that he needed a hammock on the balcony and a jacuzzi in the room!!!!!

he got that!!

Re: Anyone having HM issues?

we had a bunch of hm issues because there was a list of certain things that we wanted and we wanted somewhere to do absolutely nothing, jsut relax, no sightseeing.. and we wanted to spend under 5k including everything, so after a few months, we booked! we decided on sandals royal bahamian

edited for spelling.lol

yes, originally we wanted to do the South Pacific but realistically it is just way out of our budget. Especially considering we have a destination wedding to go to in Aruba just 2 months before our wedding.

So now we have no idea where to go. But we did get a Citibank airmiles card to start using in order to add up some airmiles.

Totally having issues! I was almost hoping FH would take the lead and surprise me, but he wants me to be involved.

First we were thinking Fiji or New Zealand, but we can't afford it.

Now we are thinking Europe or Costa Rica.

Why is this so hard?!?!??!??????????

Re: Anyone having HM issues?

Our problem is that we can't decide from a million different things, and we are not putting ourselves on a budget, so we can do ANYTHING, which makes it so much harder.

Our only stipulation is that food be included, simply because we love to eat and don't like to think about it. As long as we have good food, we're fine. It's so much more difficult because we're not just limited to all-inclusives because so many hotels have meal plans available. We might do a luxury cruise, but it doesn't leave until a week after our wedding and he doesn't want to have a break between the wedding and honeymoon.

Look into Tahiti...it will definitely WOW you...one of the attorneys from my group just got back from there and just by looking at the pics all I could say was WOW...$$$$ but well worth every penny.

I'm with ya... this our dilemma right now. We have too many options.

I did. I really didnt want to travel at all. I hate sitting on planes - though I am not afraid to fly. FH just took the bull by the horns and said 'I want to go to Hawaii before we have kids' OK done deal. I am happy but I am sleeping all the way there and all the way back - heavily sedated.

Re: Anyone having HM issues?

This has been by far the hardest wedding related decision yet! Who knew! Anyway, we really wanted Hawaii, but couldn't bring ourselves to pay for it (the more we spend on a HM) the more we take from our fund.

I recommend going to a travel agent. Ours found places I wasn't finding on line. Let them do the leg work...we are most likely going to Adventuras Spa Palace in Riviera Maya. Every room has a jacuzzi, all food and drink are included (bonus!), and they offer a bunch of tours (also included) that leave from the hotel. All for the bargain price of $3500 for both of us.

I AM!!! FH is being quite difficult. We have been to two different travel agents, and have searched for months online by ourselves, and STILL no destination of choice.

He however doesn't have a problem blowing the bank on this trip, and that is where I am having difficulty going along with him.
I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for this trip, am I nuts?

us! we thought we had 100% decided italy, then changed our minds to mexico... thought that was set and then a few days ago someone told us it might be too hot. so now, we have to check into that. hopefully it won't put us back at the drawing board again!

Me too!!! We started with Cabo but then all the weather issues hit and turn us off of anything south. Then we looked into an Alaskan cruise. But last week we talked about just renting an RV and doing a road trip!!!

We're gonna end up at Fire Island or Montauk!!

Re: Anyone having HM issues?

FH and i really wanted to do southern Italy - specifically the Amalfi Coast & Sicily. We had a ton of ideas, but since we are getting married in mid November, the weather is sketchy. Today, it's 75 degrees in Sicily and that's just not hot enough for us. We don't want the South Pacific, so basically, we need help...
