For me it made sense to just have my one sister as MOH and that's it. But my mom and my MOH/sister are really stressing me out. Even FH said it may have been less stressful to have my friends more involved... but that was the whole point to simplify..
Anyone else ever regret this decision?

Re: Anyone having/had No Bridesmaids??
I have 7 girls including my 2 MOH and I am wishing I would have had less it is going to be so expensive Although I couldnt imagine haveing my wedding w/o the girls I picked standing up there with me...........I think it's a personal decision so if u only want ur sister then that is fine dont listen to anyone it is ur day

I go back and forth all the time. I have no bms and no moh. I just chose to keep it very simple. I go back and forth because I want I would like to make my friends more involved. But I still stand by the fact that less people equals less stress.

Re: Anyone having/had No Bridesmaids??
My sister is the MOH as well, and my future brother in law the best man. I'm really happy with my decision. It keeps things simple, and if I was to include my friends it would have been a really big bridal party. It's less stressful, less to coordinate, and in the end less expensive.

Re: Anyone having/had No Bridesmaids??
I would have the people that were MOST close to you. I'm sure you find other people than JUST your sis close to you. I have my 2 sisters, their 4 daughters, my FSIL with her 2 daughters, and 2 f my friends....but I really couldn't narrow it down to just one or 2...they ALL mean soo much to. I would purchase the girfts early, and maybe even seperatly, and it woun't feel like your spending that much. Thatr's what I did...

Re: Anyone having/had No Bridesmaids??
i think that is fine!!. I am having a MOH, and my cousin and FH's cousin as my BM's. I didn't want the drama of having to 'choose' between different friends for my bridal party so i avoided it all together.

You can do it either way. It's more helpful to have people chip in for shower & stuff too. This way not stuck on MOH or mom by themselves.

I have my sister as MOH and FH's brother is BM. That's it! I'm not into the whole bridal party thing (I've been in enough).

Re: Anyone having/had No Bridesmaids??
I think it is a personal choice. I am only having 3 BM (closest friends). My FMIL was a little upset that I ddin't pick her daughters, but I honestly did not want a whole parade of people. I told her we wanted to keep it very simple.

Re: Anyone having/had No Bridesmaids??
I have two female cousins..I made the one 2 yrs older than me the MOH and the one 2 years younger than me a bridesmaid. So I only have two and its made scheduling and dress shopping really convenient.

Re: Anyone having/had No Bridesmaids??
I wanted just a MOH, but my FH had too many guys to include. Not that I don't LOVE everyone in my BP, but they're married, having babies, etc. and I was worried about what a P.I.A. it is for people to be in a BP. I wanted more 'guests' and fewer 'participants' for their sake . . . .
But, I'm sure that I will be really psyched that they're all 'in the party,' and I'm trying to make it as painless as possible by letting them all pick whatever dress they want from the designer we all liked, so long as it comes in the right color. They can also all stay wherever they like, so long as they meet up with me for hair and makeup before hand, and of course, there will be gifties.
All in all, though, to make it easier on everyone, I'd probably have preferred to have one on each side so no one had any 'work' to do to be at my wedding. I'm 'older' and we've all done this a million times, and I really wanted it to be simple. (I'm the last holdout!!!)

Re: Anyone having/had No Bridesmaids??
I'm having only an MOH, too.
But, my cousins' daughters are in their teens and tweens and wanted to be involved somehow, so I asked them to be 'Usherettes,' so they'll be the ones in charge of handing out programs at the church and the rice afterwards.
So far, I don't regret the decision at all.

Re: Anyone having/had No Bridesmaids??
That is totally up to you ! No one can change your mind but you ! I am having my sister as my MOH, 2 of my best friends as my BM along with my goddaughter. The BM is my FH best friend, and family will be the GM... it is mainly family and close friends.

Re: Anyone having/had No Bridesmaids??
I am only having my daughter as my maid of honor - and my FH's best friend is his BM. We didn't need the headache of having to deal w/ more people who are spread out all over the country.

we're having 2 MOHs and 2 BMs. Luckily FH and i each have 2 best friends. I know some people will be upset that I'm not including his sister but its nothing personal, we just dont want a big wedding party.

I had my sister as my MOH and DH's best friend as the BM. I didn't want to go through all the stress with a huge party. Wanted to keep it simple.

Re: Anyone having/had No Bridesmaids??
it's definitely a personal decision, and i think whatever you decide will be a great one! we chose our siblings only (we each have 1- he has a sister and i have 1 brother) as our 'honor attendants.' i have great friends and i know they would do anything for me, but i just think that it can become very expensive
