Anyone having/have a HUGE bridal party?

I am having a really hard time picking BMs. I kind of want to have like alllll of my girls be in my BP, I know it's not traditional, but I also don't want my BP to think they have to spend so much money etc. I am thinking of having like 15 people, seriously! Is that bad? ANyone do that? I don't really see anything wrong with it! I would tell them that I just wanted them all to be a part of my day. I am not going to ask them to spend lots of money, I will let them pick out their own dress, they won't have to pay for my shower, etc....

FH won't have as many guys, just a few!

What do you ladies think?

15 girls???? I think that is a bit much. hahah

I thought ours was big with 6 girls 7 guys 2 jr gm 1 jr bm and a ring bearer.

do what you want but I'd wait to ask...trust me. i was married before and it was hell.

I had a hard enough time trying to organize 4 girls and had to kick 1 out a week before the wedding bc of her BS... you will def see who your true friends are and i can tell you right now... it wont be that lucky # 15.... nowhere near it...

Dont mean to come off as harsh.... I just had a really bad experience and if even 1 person can learn from my mistake, the better!

that's the thing, I don't want it to be like a stressful experience for anyone, I just want it to be laid back, I don't want them to have to do anything, my sister will plan the shower and bachelorette, and then they can just like, be.... They are all my best friends from each stage of my life (childhood, HS, college) and they are all so special to me and I feel like I can't choose only a few!!!!!

I would tell them that I don't want them to have to plan anything, just show up and have fun at everything!!!!!!!!

My friends are pretty chill and I feel like they will understand..

hey its your wedding so do what you think is cool, but I've seen bride after bride in tears crying over their BP choices. some of the people that acted up surprised them and friendships were destroyed over it. I'd wait.

LOL I didn't cry but sh*t happens.

I had 6 girls.. asked about a year and 1/2 in advance.

been best friends with these girls for as long as I can remember, no drama, no problems really.

then a lot of drama went down between two of those bridesmaids.. one was forcing me to choose sides when it had nothing to do with me.

i don't play those games and dropped her out of my bridal party and my life so fast peoples heads were spinning.

i agree with the other girls.. wait a little longer, the year mark i think would be perfect. if you want to fm me, feel free.

We had 14 people! Technically 15 because the usher jumped in on every effing pic.

ETA: But that was combined- BMs and GMs. Just remember you're gonna have to get them all gifts and transport them to the wedding! Not to mention coordinating dates for shower/bach. party is a lot harder when you have so many people!

No way would I have that many girls...you are asking for trouble. They may all seem chill, but tell them they have to wear a dress that they don't feel flatters them or a color that they don't like or that they have to do their hair/makeup...you will see their true colors. I'm not saying that you have shiity friends...just that most girls really do not understand what being a bridesmaid is really like.

I have 3 girls and I chose them because I knew for a fact they would not let me down...also I have been completely laid back about the whole thing...I let them choose their own dresses, I haven't give them specifics about anything...I'm still surprised I came out with no drama.

I'm having a total of 21 people in my bridal party.

7 bridesmainds
2 MOH
6 groomsmen
2 best men
3 flower girls
and a ring bearer.

It's A LOT but FH is one of six and eveyone had to be included but to tell you the truth I wouldn't have it any other way because I love them all.

So, even though 15 bridesmaids is a lot I say if they are all the women you want with you on the big day go for it!

Of course you make the final decision, but please dont be naive and think just bc they are 'chill' now, means they are going to act the same way during each part of your wedding festivities... Ive never been a BM so I dont know how that feels but I can almost garantee you that you will have a few that surprise you with their attitudes...

And as another person said, dont forget about all the gifts you have to get them, transportation for all of them... And how many times you will be making separate trips to the bridal shop with diff BM's bc not all can go on the same day to try on dresses... etc etc ... How many will let you down by not wanting to go along with the bachelorette party ideas... Not to mention BM's who start wars with other BM's about chipping in for shower gifts... The more people you add to the mix, the more complicated it ends up becoming... Sorry to be a debbie downer... These are just some things that ive experienced/heard over and over again from girls... Picking bridal party early is def one of the top regrets ive heard on this website

i have 12 girls. i couldnt imagine standing up t that alter without all of them there.. regardless of how much more it cost me in gifts, flowers, transportation and organizing that clan.. they are the most important girls in my life i NEEDED them to be there with me.

was there drama, sure.. a little here and there.. but when you put that many women together there will always be SOME drama.. BUT i have been friends with all of them since childhood so we can just brush off our arguments.

i dont for a second regret my decision to put them all in.. i just learned to NOT rely on them for anything and take anything extra that they do as a gift.. i dont expect them to help me or cater to me whatsoever.

and i dont think its too soon for you to pick at all. i would say think about it for a little longer, weigh the pros and cons and maybe ask after the holidays, around your one year mark..
