I have no desire to start *really* planning. FH and I are just enjoying the engagement and probably won't do anything major for a few months. Anyone else feel this way?

that was what i origionally wanted to do. but then i started posting here and saw what all the girls had done and it made me feel sooo behind on planning lol

Well... I got engaged June and did not start looking for halls until this month... i was looking through magazines and researching, but actually going to see them we started recently. We decided right after we got engaged just to enjoy the moment...but when you start planning, you will enjoy it even more!!!!

I still don't have my ring yet but, after coming on here I was like boy I have to start now and calling places they are booking, halls and vendors and that made me sooo nervous. But that is me I do this to myself. After booking most of my vendors I'll calm down.
Well I wanted to get the big stuff out of the way like booking the vendors by this winter so that next summer I can relax.. I already ordered my dress booked the RH booked the band and choose my photographer and videographer.

We have been engaged since Feb (valentines day actually) and didn't start doing anything until July....so I did enjoy just being newly engaged. Enjoy it...you have so much time to get things done...some people go nuts trying to get everything done, but that is the fun part...I am spacing things out so I have things to do the year of my wedding.

we've been engaged since may and haven't booked anything yet. i've called a few halls for prices and tried on dresses. i have tons of ideas in my head, its just a matter of really getting started.

Im loving being engaged.... & I could see why one wouldn't be anxious to start the planning process... I wish I had that ability, however I have an anxiety problem so im like the more I can do now the better.... then as it gets closer I can just sit back & enjoy

Yes I like it...I want to plan stuff later on when I get closer to the date. I dont want all the excitement to leave soon! I like being under pressure. I know IM crazy!

Maybe it's because I do this for a living that now that its my own wedding, I am averse to doing stuff yet
I definitely have ideas, I just don't have the desire yet to meet with florists, DJs, etc I am gonna be the laziest bride!

TRUST ME its a great idea...i did the same thing, i waited about 4 months before i even started to plan. Within the first week of being engaged there were already issues about planning and i remember someone once said to really just take the time to enjoy with no craziness and im glad i did.

yeah thats basically exactly what i did... i got engaged in march, and didnt start looking at anything till July/August.. .the first few months are the most enjoyable.. now i want to strangle him. lol just kidding, FMIL! :)

I waited about a month and then started buggin FH here n there... BUT, here it is 3 months later and I'm just bookin the RH today... Once you start seeing all the girls on here getting things done, it sorta makes you want to also...

I love being engaged!.......but I have a hard school year coming up (next year is gonna be worse) so i wanted to make sure i got the majors done. That's all ...I think shopping and going to appointments is fun and adds to the whole engagement experience

im the same way. i'm not sleeping well.. not really eating much.. soo stressed over this and its like hello! wedding in a year and a half why am i freaking? i stress over everything. its a very bad habit i wish i could stop
