anyone keeping their dress a secret?

anyone keeping their dress a secret?

So I finally ordered my dress & so now when people ask about the gown search I'm letting them know that I found 'the one.' The next question is always can they see it & I feel a little reluctant to show all of my family & friends what it looks like. Isn't it supposed to be a surprise for your groom & guests? I guess I'm afraid it'll take away from my entrance if so many people have seen it already. Am I being nuts or are there other brides who want to keep their gown under wraps until the big day??? (So far only my mother & moh have seen it)

Hmmm...I dont really see my family memebers that often for them to ask me to see the dress. But as for FH he saw me in a wedding dress, but not THE wedding dress I plan on keeping it a secret

Did you call my name????

Yep, that's me. I am keeping the dress 'under wraps' like I say to anyone that asks me.

Of course, if you're an LIW'er, you know exactly what it looks like.

Seriously though, people have asked me and I tell them just that. I tell them that I prefer not to disclose it.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one! My Aunt asked to see pics & when I said she'd see it at the wedding she looked at me like I was being weird! oh well

They'll get used to the idea. I just don't want to ruin the surprise for everyone. If my mom wasn't paying for the dress, I swear, she would not have seen it.

I don't think it's Bridezillaish, it's just that I enjoy surprises.

Definitely agree that FH isn't the only one who should be surprised by your dress on the wedding day. So far only one other person has seen my dress and once I start scheduling my fittings I still plan on keeping the number very limited.

The only people that have seen it is: my mom, sister, aunt, MOH and two my friends.

No one else will see it until next year!!

When people ask to see my dress I tell them that I couldn't take pictures and that the website does not do it justice, so they will have to wait for the wedding to see it! I do have pics, but I am trying to keep it a secret - I think it takes so much away when everyone has seen the dress beforehand.

I started telling my friends and family about my dress, but when everyone started coming down on me about the price $$$$, I decided to keep my mouth shut from now on. But who cares what they think, I love my dress and it is 'THE ONE'

I showed mine only to our parents and the girls in the bridal party. No one else even got a description and I did not even post it here!

Re: anyone keeping their dress a secret?

I never really thought about wanting to keep my dress a secret until I went to buy 'the one' and the saleslady said to me,'I wouldn't let anyone else know what your dress looks like'. For a while I didn't tell anyone the details of my dress, and I swore my mother, sister, best friend, and FMIL to secrecy...but I think I was being silly, if someone close to me asked to see the dress, I would have no problem showing them. The only person who absolutely CAN NOT see my dress is my FH

Mine will be a surprise to everyone! I purchased a plain dress and am getting a bunch of things done with it. It basically won't look like the dress that I have right now......

Nobody will see it until the wedding day! Can't wait!!!!

YEP YEP YEP!! shhh it is a secret. such a secret that i am not allowed to take pictures of it to show anybody. my mom made the lady write on the folder no pictures allowed. I am soo determined about keeping it a secret i dont even wanna get ready outside the bridal sweet so the one and only time someone sees me is when the doors open and SAY 'OH MY GOD!! SHE LOOKS AMAZING'.

Told FH those better be the words that comes to his head
