I believe it is mainly about eating more proteins similar to Atkens?

Re: Anyone know anything about the Zone diet?
I have the books and the starter pack if you want it. It really sounds like a good plan but I never did it. The pack contains dinners, bars, 2 books and some other stuff.

Re: Anyone know anything about the Zone diet?
It is a very good, but a very strict diet. I did it and it does work, but I felt that it was too difficult for my life style. Basically its mostly fruits and veggies (low-carb) then your next largest serving is lean protein , and finally a small amount of fat. Think of a plate and half of it being filled and piled high with fruits and vegetables, then most of the other half being protein, and then a small section for fat. Visit this website for more info: zone diet

Re: Anyone know anything about the Zone diet?
Thanks. I put on several pounds since the wedding and I want to try to get back in shape. I was curious to see if anyone is on the zone diet and how they feel about it. I don't think I could be too strict. I just want to try to eat a little better and see results quickly. I only want to lose 7 pounds but I don't want it to take a long time.
not that I tried the zone...but I did try to balance my carbs, proteins and fats...it was so freaking hard...but maybe if they had a cookbook or something that could tell you exactly what to eat or how to combine the foods...it would be easier...

Re: Anyone know anything about the Zone diet?
The Zone came with a cookbook with about 100 recipe combinations for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Re: Anyone know anything about the Zone diet?
I am not very overweight. I just need to lose about 7 pounds. I got very lax with my workouts and the pounds kept adding on quickly.

Re: Anyone know anything about the Zone diet?
Oh well the reason I asked is that the Zone has 2 programs for women. One for under 5'7 and one for over. I am 5'5. I don't really know what is different exactly between the two. It might say it on the website.

Oh. I thought that if it gave meal plans for example, I could try to follow it a couple of days a week at least. I can't be that disciplined. I do like my cookies once in a while.

Re: Anyone know anything about the Zone diet?
Sue-Maybe you should try following the Body for Life plan. It is an exercise and diet plan. The diet (way of eating) is very similar to the Zone. (You balance your portions) On the Body for life though, you get a free day. You can eat 'cookies' on Sundays, but you have to be good for the rest of the week.

I hear you can buy the meals for zone and have it delivered to your house, but its like $70 a day! Jennifer Aniston does this.

Re: Anyone know anything about the Zone diet?
DO NOT BUY THE MEALS AND HAVE THEM DELIEVERED,......I've done it on 2 seperate occasions and am disgusted with that company!
When that company first started out 5 years ago, I was a client, and the food was delievered, almost all the time, but there were days that they would just not deliever. That seriously F*cks up everything, because it's a serious strict diet!
Then they'd deliever food, and it would be spoiled!
So, I waited a few years, and this past year I figured I'd try it again because of all how big the company got (maybe things would be better)! NO WAY!
I didn't get my food once 4 days in a row (I paid for 7 day delievery!). They were so unprofessional, and I wrote them a letter, called them, I never got a **** response!
The Zone is an easy diet to master, as long as you eat clean, Ie. plain chicken breast, 1 and 1/2 cup of veggies, and some sort of fat, like oil! That's it! That's a meal.
I have a nutritionist who gave me an amazing nutrition chart modeled after the Zone, and it seriously works!
