Anyone know of a good place to have eyebrows done in queens or Nassau?!!!i
I am looking for someone who does exceptional eyebrows. I would prefer to have them tweezed and not waxed. I know there are tons of places in Manhattan but I don't feel like making the trip.

My DH's aunt works at Milage (516)921-2017 in Syosset...Her name is Isa (Isabel)...
I've never been there b/c she also has a private room at her house as well..
She waxes among many other things...but I will never go to another waxer since she did my eyebrows, upper lip and underarms 2 weeks ago for my wedding...she uses special wax...and knows all these pressure points to make it hurt less...

How about threading? A lot of Asian Indian salons offer it, and once you thread, you won't want to do anything else! There are a lot of places in Queens, Manhattan, and some in Nassau. It's usually only $5 or so, and never turns red or bumpy.

There is an Indian salon in Hicksville on route 107 by a supermarket named Compare. They do the threading for $5 and it LASTS!!!

How precise is threading? I have also heard that it hurts.

There is this GREAT place called Rani in Bellrose, Queens.. it's like a NY/LI boundary..They do a great job at threading.. better than tweezing AND waxing!

I think threading is more precise than waxing, and quicker than tweezing. It's where they literally take a piece of thread and rub it against your brows/upper lip which removes the hair. Personally, waxing is more painful.Marcella,
Are you talking about Rani's on Hillside Ave? I've been there, I think it's considered Floral Park, if we're talking about the same place, she great!

My sis has been to the location in Hicksville and loves it!! I am a little scared of it. But she says it doesn't hurt as much as waxing and it lasts longer. The concept of thread going through my eyebrows doesn't sit well with me. So I stick to waxing instead.

I think threading is the way to go, it doesn't cause your skin to get irritated the way waxing can. I had my upper lip waxed years ago and I would never do it again, yeah it got rid of the hair but for the next week or so I had little bumps and red marks on that area. I have sensitive skin so it didn't work for me at all.

I get my eyebrows threaded at a place on Bell Blvd. in Bayside. It's called Headlines. It's right across the street from the Genovese on Bell Bvd. I think they're great!!

I'm actually going to get my eyebrows professionally shaped. They do that at the Green House Spa in Manhasset. I don't know if they do other ways besides waxing, but you can call them and find out. They are shaped now, but I'm not too happy with it.

I have mine threaded at Nubest Salon in Manhasset. Rahima does it and they look great, it takes on a nice shape. It hurts a little more than waxing ONLY because it is not one swipe and done. She threads over the area a couple of times but shapes your eyebrows nicely. It looks so much better than waxingWelcome New Vendors
