Anyone knows other furnitures stores besides..

Crate & Barrel and Poterry Barn? I am looking for the same clean, very simple, elegant style?

I love the stuff at Room and Board . There are no stores in our area but I have ordered from the catalog several times and was happy with everything. The quality is very much like C&B and PB and their delivery was great.

We got our dining room and bedroom set at Bo Concept, there's a website and it's on Glen Cove Rd. by Roosevelt Field Mall.

Macy's Furniture in Carle Place. I fell in love with a sofa and love seat at Pottery Barn but it was soo expensive. I refused to pay that much. FH and I were walking around Macy's Furniture one day and I stopped dead in my tracks - they had the same exact set for $100s less!! So, we bought it! (It's the Greenwich style.)

Check out some of the Rowe stuff at Seigermans. THey had some more contemporary styles.

I've found some stuff I really like at Bare Boards in Bohemia and their service is terrific. I got my sofa and family room coffee table and end tables there and we're planning to buy some book shelves soon.

Got my dining room set from an on-line source furnitureland south I'm supposed to hear from them any day now about the exact day for delivery - it's going to be in about 7-10 days - can't wait!

Karen-- FH and I are going to North Carolina tomorrow night to GO to Furnature Land South!!!!

We're taking a weekend and going to Huntsville- 'the furniture capital of the USA' They are supposed to be terrific. There are so many furniture stores down there it is crazy. Many of FH's coworkers have gone down there to get their furniture, and the prices are unbelievably cheap.

Cheryl - do you have a design consultant at FLS? I worked with Christina Garrison and she was very helpful. I'm soooo jealous that you're going in person! I wanted to do that but decided it wasn't worth the expense unless I was ready to buy more than a few pieces. Have fun! Tell us all about it when you get back.

there is a whole street of furniture stores in Brooklyn, McDonalds ave. They are all owned by Russians. Nice furniture, Eropean made, mostly Italian, good prices. But I didn't see the living room stuff that i like there! We did buy our bedroom in one of those stores though!

Marcella, I don't know of specific store names, but a bunch of them are centered around McDonald Ave and Kings Hwy, and go along McDonald Ave both ways.

Anya, do you like anything on dane decor's site?

FH had been calling and setting things up with our consultant. I can't think of her name right now, but look for my post and review when I come back on Tuesday!! I'll be spending most of Friday and Sat with her so I'll know her name then! I'm so excited. Since we have NOTHING for our house, we are going to buy everything-dining,living,bedrooms. So that is why we decided to make the trip.

I have been wanting to go to Furnitureland South for sooooo long! I bought my bedroom and some other pieces from them and saved so much $$. I placed the orders over the phone. I bought my LR and DR up here because they didnt carry it Otherwise I would definately have made the trip. Have Fun and tell us all about it when you get back. Happy Shoping

I must advise staying away from Huffman Koos (Farmingdale) .. we had major trouble with them .. they are very non-service oriented .. they want your money, but don't want to assist when things are wrong. The potential battles are so not worth what furniture might be appealing there.
