Anyone make their Save theDate Magnets?
I think they are cute, but our budget is pretty tight at this point, so I was thinking of making them myself. Any tips would be much appreciated!

Re: Anyone make their Save theDate Magnets?
I made little magnets for my guests who stayed at the hotel. I had taken a pic of the Montauk lighthouse a few years ago so I scanned that in, put our names and date at the top and Long Island, New York on the bottom. I printed them out on magnet paper you can buy in Staples, the magnet isn't thick like you normal magnet weight but they came out cute. Only problem was when I asked some friends if they got them, they all said no, they must have thrown them out with the bag!!

Re: Anyone make their Save theDate Magnets?
I made them myself for a pretty reasonable price, but it was a ton of work. I used the perforated business cards and printed them out on the color laser printer at my office. I bought packages of the business-card size magnets and then put adhesive laminate on top (it is sold in sheets). I was able to get everything at office supply stores (Office Max, Staples) and it it cost me about $130 to make 125 of them (including envelopes and postage).

These are mine. Laura from LA Productions is making them and they are $1 each:

Actually, instead of the little bride and groom, our picture will be there.

curly2003- My date is a couple weeks after yours and I was just curious when you were sending them out. Also is that just a card or a magnet? Thanks!

Re: Anyone make their Save theDate Magnets?
Hi,I haven't made my magnets yet but have the supplies I need, which cost about $20 for the magnet sheets.
A bride from another website sent me graphics I'm using for the STDs. I bought a 8 1/2x11 sheet of magnets (not preforated). Luckily she sent them already formatted
altho I edited it some.I get about 12 STDs per sheet I think. IF you have any qs feel free to email me. IF you like I'll send you the graphics sent to me & you can decide if you wanna use it.
Dunno how skilled you are on the computer, but maybe you could insert a real picture in it instead of the graphic if that's what you prefer. hope this helps.
