Fh and I are think about moving to SC after the wedding...anyone else doing this??

We are staying in NY, but are moving upstate.

i would reconsider florida..it depends where though you are tinking about

everyone is getting out of here because of jobs and the housing market is TERRIBLE here more so then anywhere else

im getting out of florida as soon as i can

We both agreed that we are never leaving Long Island--we will work day and night if we have to to make it work.

I hate you all! I want to get the hell out of the tristate area. Unless we move up to the sticks for $250K, we're never getting a townhouse. We will be renting FOREVER. I'm so jealous of all who said they are heading out!

I want to go to the Denver or Boulder area and I also LOVE New England -- though it's hard to get a job there. I'm sure I'd be able to find work in Denver. I work in advertising so there has to be agencies in a big city. My FH is NEVER leaving here. He's lived here his entire life and all his friends are here and he loves his job. Wah wah.

FH just got a new job on LI that he loves so I think we are going to stick around LI for a bit. But I do not want to raise my kids here as I dont think we can afford a house that will be more than one bedroom. So when we have a 2 year old I hope to be moving somewhere more affordable.

i Would love to move to Miami -if i can get a job transfer i would do it in a heart beat.

but we r prolly going to move to NYC who knows...

we said we when have kids we'd like to move to Greece or Cyprus..

is the housing/job market really that bad on LI? If we moved back to NY I don't know if we'd live in manhattan or on the island and the costs scare me...

I always said I'd never leave NY. But we're talking about it. We're staying here for now...at least until we have kids. Then we'll probably move to PA. I have tons of family there and my parents will retire there. His parents are going to retire to Arizona and I'm NOT moving there!! Too hot. He works for an assisted living chain..so he can be transferred and I'm a paralegal..so it wont be hard to find a job...but he wants me to stay home with the kids anyway.

We are staying here for a long time, we bought a house last year, and knocked it down and it should be completely done by june, including furniture, and the pool and patio area as well. Its in Massapequa and its 2 minutes from our office so we know we will be there for a long long time

HELLS YES!

FH's parents live just south of Myrtle Beach, and we're looking to go in that area with in the next 2 years. We can't afford a house up here on LI, and FH doesn't want to be up here anymore. I want our children to be able to spend time with their grandparents, so SC was actually my choice.

FH and I moved to Virginia. His company placed him there and then I got a teaching job there. We LOVE it. Can't say enough wonderful things. We were actually back on L.I last weekend and were HAPPY to head back home to Virginia.

we're moving to PHILLY! I'm a city girl so I had to go somewhere more reasonable that still had the nightlife and cultural facet like NY does. Plus FH has family there and my FMIL is moving there soon so easy babysitting when it comes time for that.

if we can't live comfortably here, then yes, we will move. But we are going to try our hardest to make it work here!

FH and I decided to move down to Raleigh. I wanted to move down there a few yrs ago but chickened out. We just went down to visit one of my BM and he fell in love with it too! Our goal is to move down right after we tie the knot! I can't wait! I wish he wanted to go sooner!

I actually moved out of NY before the wedding and FH and I just bought a condo in Winston Salem, NC! And I love it here and so happy I moved out - miss NY but we wouldn't have been able to buy anything in NY....if anyone has any questions about NC just let me know! Happy to help

A little over a year ago we were applying for jobs out of state...the Carolina's or Florida....but he finally got a job in teaching...so we are staying here for the time being. I honestly don't know if I could be away from my family...my nephews...I need to see them a couple times a week to get my 'fix'....who knows. I know it is unreasonable to think we can afford it here, but at this point, the pros outweigh the cons for staying....but it may change.

It is sad that we have to leave our home because we can't afford to live and raise a family here....
