not doing them. I think they are cute but not necessary and no one I know has ever done them so they'd think I was crazy.

I'm not doing them. All the people who are going pretty much know the date already.

we didnt do them...i honestly felt like the people I cherish the most in life know when our wedding is and if they can't arrange to be there that is pretty sad and i guess didnt mean that much to use...our guest list is also huge so anything to keep our numbers down was the way to go.

i was able to do them for under $100 and thought it was important for the oot guests. also, people kept asking my mom when my date was b/c they were trying to plan vacation.

I just did a newsletter type thing for the OOT guests, otherwise everyone knows, so I didn't do them.

We don't think we are doing Save the Dates...

We don't have many out of town guests and everyone important to us already knows the date!

We might do an email save the date, but thats about it!

Also, my mom once made a good point, It's your important day and those who care about you will put aside what they are doing when they get the invite two months in advance...
plus, like I said, everyone close to us already knows!

We didn't do them. IMHO I'd rather spend the $$ on other things and just send the invites out earlier so everyone knows when the wedding is.

We had planned on making our own STDs, but ummmm, now it's like 5 and 1/2 months away. I'm not sure if I should still do them, but I know a lot of people that just plain didn't do STDs because they felt the invitation was enough.

We did them, but that's because we come from families that tend to forget things!!

Plus we got them for $2.95.

Re: Anyone not doing Save the Dates???

we didn't. we did create a wedding website and emailed it to a few OOTs to give them a head's up. Also relied on word of mouth as an informal STD for those we really want to attend

We aren't doing them in fact I have friends who did them and told me if I can give you one piece of advice don't do STD's. Especially if you are very worried about your guest #'s. Because all the people you are counting on not to come will because they will make sure they leave that date open. Anyone who is important to you will show up no matter what. Just spread the word through friends and family.

Not me- We are trying to cut down the guest list so some people might be busy if we dont send STD's

I only sent out STD's to people who were out of town - which ended up being about 20 or so. I found a pre made card at Target for 1.30 for 12 and printed them on my computer.

I didn't do them either cause I know my guest list keeps changing.

We didn't do them. Everyone knew the wedding day not long after we got engaged. We were engaged for 19 months, so people had plenty of time to plan.
