I'm just curious, since I'm beginning to feel like a freak of nature. Did anyone NOT dream about your wedding when you were a girl? I can't say I ever thought about it until very recently.
I thought about getting married, but I can't recall dreaming of my wedding. Anyone else?

I don't think I did. I didn't start fantasizing about weddings until FH and I got serious.

I NEVER thought about it. Infact I never wanted to get married or have kids. Its so wierd. Now I am excited to get married and one day ( a long time from now ) start a family.

Me too. I think that is why it's been so hard for me. I never thought about what I wanted. What makes it worse is that FH and I've been together since we were 16 so everyone always thinks that I should have had the whole wedding planned out. PUHLEASE!!! I was getting my party on in college!

I never thought about details or a hall or anything like that but i definitely thought about being a bride and walking downt the aisle in a beautiful dress and stuff like that.

Never ever ever dreamt about getting married . . .or having a wedding for that matter. Never wanted it until I dated FH.... 6 months into the relationship I knew I'd marry him.

I definitely did not, and I didn't even want to get married when I was younger. I just wanted to be independent. Obviously, I changed my mind about marriage as I got older, but I always thought I wouldn't get married. I think it was more fear that no one would marry me. But no, definitely did not dream of my wedding.

I dreamed of being President, not of a dress with lots of tulle! I'm really glad I didn't because I had a wonderful wedding, but it seems like the people who have a life's worth of dreaming to realize feel like they are let down if something (and inevitably something WILL) goes wrong....

I never dreamed of it... but I think that's cause it was kinda difficult growing up, money wise. SO i never let myself get this beautiful idea of a big huge wedding only to possibly be let down
I'm so glad to say, that FH is letting me plan a wonderful wedding - nothing huge, but something that fits both of us. I can't wait!!!

I didn't and I still don't. I do think about the HM...but I'm not into the fairytale aspect of the wedding. I love the sanctity of the ceremony and am looking forward to a big party, that's it.

I am right there with ya-- I didn't start wanting any of this until I was dating FH.
I hate it when vendors, etc. are like-- I know you have been dreaming of this day your whole life-- blah blah.. wedding propaganda!

I never did. I used to think it was because my parents eloped, and I never had their wedding photo to look at and and dream about my wedding one day.
Now that I'm very much in love (and engaged!!), I can't wait for my wedding day. I keep picturing myself walking through those doors with my dad on my arm, and I pause for one second just to see everyone else and my dear, sweat fiance at the end of the isle waiting for me. That's the moment I'm waiting for.

I necer thought of it! I wantewd to get married on the beach. My fiance wanted a big church wedding and now he's created a monster!

I could have wrote that also. I was such a tomboy growing up, really into sports & such.
I actually didn't have my first Barbie doll until I was 20 (it was a gag gift at a company party).
But now that I'm with bf, I cannot wait to start planning....
