I was sort of relieved to see other people debating/struggling with this a bit. It's good to hear everyone's opinions. I agree with a lot of you, I like my name better, no one can pronounce his name, but at the same time it's important to him. I think I'll be adding it legally on the end, won't care if it's used socially as my last name and keep my name professionally. It feels so disjointed , though!

I'm looking forward to being Mrs. G, but I know I'm going to miss my last name.

Oh well, my current last name is the Jewish equivalent of Smith, so it's not like the name's dying any time soon!

I don't mind changing my name, it just all the paper work that has to be done.

It sucks bc today I have to go to DMV to renew my license and then will have to change it again in another 4 months.

I am going to change my name to FH's. There is NO way I can hyphenate our names. It would sound funny. I have mixed feelings.

My last name is Italian, but I don't look Italian at all. The only reason people know is because of my last name. FH's last name is Irish. I look more Irish than Italian. I feel like I will be losing a part of my identiy.

On the other hand. People can never pronounce my last name. They always spell it wrong. And they never understand what I say it is when I'm on the phone. So I am looking forward to having an 'easy' last name.

I don't want to keep my name. I feel like having the same last name makes us a family and will be easier when we have kids. I am a traditionalist this way.

This has actually been the hardest part about getting married for me.

I'm changing mine but I like my last name better.

I feel the same way too, but I'm lucky atleast his last name sounds good with mine..but I have trouble saying it all the time..lol

I am gonna change it, but going to be sad about it...my last name now is 6 letters...2 syllabells, and his is 11 letters, 4 syllabells...

but, I too am a traditionalist in this aspect...

I am just not liking my initials will be HO, of if I use my middle initial, HLO...and is H'lo!

FH and I made an agreement though...if I ever leave my company, then I will change it.

I'm not changing my name. FI's last name is very nice, but I already have a perfectly good last name, I don't need a new one!

I've had my name for 33 years, and this is who I am. I can't imagine changing it!

My mom and I have the same first and last name. This has caused a lot of confusion over the years. I cant wait to change my last name.

I'm keeping it -- too much paperwork at 37 to be bothered with!! But I will always answer to 'Mrs. P____' if I am called that. ANd our kids will have his last name. My sister kept hers, too. And all my sister-in-laws (3 of them) took our last name so.....I guess it's a keeper!

Although the paperwork will be a pain in the butt, I am excited to change it. I even practiced writing it!!!

I am 30 and a new women...so I am looking for a change!!! my last name is okay..but as soon as I turn a Mrs....i will be a new person....so, time for a name change.

Forms and paperwork do not bother me to fill out at all!!!
