this is what i love about not being married yet. i am eating at my house w/my family and he is eating at his house with his family. we can only get away with this for another year and a half, so we are going to milk it for all its worth.

We are married but each doing our own thing with our own families and meeting up later. It got to be too much of a battle deciding where to go, and each of us really wanted our own families...Plus DH does the whole football thing too and 12 hours there and I would kill someone, quite possibly him.

I know--they invited my whole family but they are all in Queens and my grandma is 87 and not up to the trip...It is such a hard call, I would feel so bad if my grandma didn't make it to next year (she is not too well) and I missed spending time with her over xmas and Thanksgiving...

12 hours! I have shallower reasonsthan you. I don't liek their food. Ther was some weird parts int eh stuffing--fruit & stuff, last yar. And they made kuegal. i did like the pomegranates though.
We are making a breif appearnece at both families' dinners, so we can answer the same boring questions about our hoenymoon, jobs, apartmenet & married life a minimum of twice.

Re: anyone NOT feel like going to their inlaws for thanksgiving
I was telling my parents the same thing this morning. Not that I don't like his family, this is our first holiday with his family, and well they do everything different than the way I grew up. Not that I am not an open minded person, but sometimes it just makes me sad to be so far away from MY family.

I completly understand. It makes me sad to be away from my family on the holidays. DH was not very interested in holidays before we got together. Now he is all into them and I have to split my days. I was single for alot of years so I am not used to splitting my holiday time with anyone. (My Ex boyfriend's family didn't live around here so when I was with him, he went to all my family functions)

I don't FEEL like it
A.) Neither his nor my family celebrate it in the way others do, but it's pretty much a great excuse to eat B.) We only make big deal because it's one of those times in the year that his sister gets to come home from college.
Doesn't matter what I 'FEEL' though..
I live with my in-laws, whatcha gonna do?

12hours for FOOTBALL? NO way..
Football is BIG for me on thankgiving but theres ONLY two games!!! one at noon and one at 4pm. It's all over by 6pm or so.
Indy is gonna destroy major underdog Detriot and even my cowboys aren't gonna give you a good game! sheesh.
