I sent out STD last July, but the fact they were a magnet and could be put on the fridge to remind you of an upcoming wedding on Memorial Day weekend apparently was lost on some of my guests...Many, including family members, are sending back the reply that they already made plans for the holiday, or are going away that weekend!
I'm just afraid of coming up REALLY short. Anyone else?

Re: Anyone not going to make their minimum
you shouldn't lose the money/ Ask for some extras - maybe berries on cake plate and shrimp cocktail if you don't have it already. Every place I spoke to said they would let me spend the money on something else

Re: Anyone not going to make their minimum
Looks like we will be coming up short but it's hard to say for sure this early in the game. Our minimum is 150, guest list 235 but my family is out of town and are friends are all out of town since we don't live in NY anymore. So until people RSVP we will have to wonder. If we meet it I am sure we will be cutting it close.
Anyone want to be my friend

But my mom already said once I leave shes asking for the food for the imaginary people we paid for...think I can talk her out of that one!?
OMG, that sounds like my grandma, lol
I need more room.. we can only afford a small wedding, because my parents are giving us a cash gift to help us move when the time comes, so I couldn't ask for more, I think it was a great compromise.. Anyway, I'd be willing to help fill spaces and take pictures too :)
And don't lose hope, maybe people will change their minds..

I'll just come to everyone's wedding!
You're added to my list as well then...

Re: Anyone not going to make their minimum
We will probably not make our minimum as well. I have been REALLY anxious about it. At first I thought 175 was a reasonable number to work with but we are definitely going to come up short!!! It is extremely stressful to even think about it!!

Re: Anyone not going to make their minimum
I have this fear too. I keep reminding myself that a lot of my friends are flakes and are 'taking their time' in sending back response cards. I know I'm being a big crybaby, but I get so disappointed when every day my mother calls with the names of people who responded and they're all HER friends!

You should sell a table to other people as a mothers day gift.

Re: Anyone not going to make their minimum
I don't know if we'll make our minimum or not. If we use the 20% will decline formula, we are cutting it close. And several of our guests are ill or a family member of theirs is, so we don't know if it will be a last minute cancellation. I can't really worry about it at this point - whatever happens, happens.

I will go to everyone's wedding as well - but not on May 30th, cause I'm doing something that day.
