I'm getting married outdoors and want to wear my hair up with some flowers or something. Looking for ideas, if anyone did this, could you post pix?
I've gone back and forth on this endlessly. Am I making a mistake?

Re: Anyone not wear a veil?
I am in the same boat as you. I feel like I don't want to wear a veil but are you expected as a bride? I have tried on sooo many and they all look horrible on me. I saw a picture on this site with the flowers in the hair and loved it. Good Luck

I wasn't going to (and I wasn't going to do a train either) until I went dress shopping and realized that there is something really special about the veil and train thing.
I've decided to ear the veil for the church ceremony and formal photos only and my train is super-short.

I want to put pearl pins in my hair - wear my hair in a low bun...I thought of flowers but I heard they can kind of die by the end of a long night...
as for a veil - i am taking mine off after the ceremony....

I don't like the veil at all - tho I saw how great it looked with the dress on. People look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them that I don't like it and it's coming off after the ceremony and a few pics. Either way, no blusher for me. My MOH thinks that it make the whole outfit and likes the way it looks. To each their own!
FOr an outdoor ceremony I think you are better off without a veil- esp if there is wind. I saw great footage of a wedding outdoors with a breeze blowing the veil back and all I kept thinking was 'what if the wind shifted'.
Do what you want- it's your day!!

Re: Anyone not wear a veil?
i'm definitely not wearing a veil. ever since i started looking at dresses & envisioning myself walking down the aisle, i never picture myself with a veil. so, i decided to save myself the money and not do it.

i didnt do it but i love it!! here r a few pics i saved
We got married outdoors as well, and I didn't want to do the veil/tiara thing. I kept it really, really simple; just a twist, no flowers, no jewelry. It fit my style as being a minimalist!

I was married outside and opted for no veil. I bought some really pretty hair pins in different styles and just had my hairdresser randomly place them in my hair.

Only you can answer the question about making a mistake. Everyone is different. Personally almost every veil I have tried on has made me feel stupid. The only veil I liked was a mantilla. My mother was oooing, and aaahing like a little kid when I put it on. In all likelihood that is what I will wear for the ceremony, and off it will go for the reception.

It's so funny...because what you can think one minute...can totally change as the time comes closer. I didn't want a veil. I hated them and thought I looked so stupid in them. My arm was twisted. Ok, so I'll wear it for my ceremony and that's it.... It just completed the look for me. I left it on all day. Oh, I got married outside...windy day...and ummm...it wasn't blowing on me...

I have a feeling that this will happen to me- I'll fight wearing one and then I won't take it off!
I'm glad your veil didn't blow in your face! The veil looks very pretty in the wind! I wish I could have an outdoor ceremony!

I'm wearing a red cloak. I want some of my hair up, but not all of it, especally around the face. I want both colored ribbons and flowers in my hair. Very renaissance looking.
