So we decided to take a mini-moon to Montreal, since it's probably as international as we will get for awhile. Have any of you been to Montreal??? Where's a good place to stay, do we need a car to get around etc????
LOVEEEEEE Montreal!!! We went in the dead of winter, I think like January of February and it was FREEEZZZING, but we still had a blast. Old Montreal is absolutely gorgeous. The food there was wonderful everywhere, and it's just a beautiful city to relax in. We had a car because it was so cold so we didn't walk around as much, and parking wasn't that bad. We stayed in the center/downtown of Montreal, but next time I would probably stay in Old Montreal. It's next to this harbor/pier and it's just gorgeous. Def recommend it!
I was there a few years ago. What a great city. We stayed at a Marriott - but I don't remember which one. We drove there also, so had our car, but we did a LOT of walking all over the city. But I would still say you need a car to get around to some of the areas.
we go to montreal for FH's hockey tournament every year. I love it! We drive up and then take the car out maybe once or twice. We walk around the city. There is an insane steakhouse there called Queue de Chaval. Amazing!! It's really pretty there, I say go for it!

Ok here is the small problem Montreal. If we drive there from NY it takes 8 hours. We live in Ma, so drive home would be 4 hours. Unless we go back home to ma the day after our wedding and drop everything off and leave the day after that. It's just so much driving for FH. Do we need our passports for Canada???

Yes, you need a passport. Did you look into the price of flights and renting a car?
