Anyone on here go to Kleinfeld? Know anyone who has?
Just curious.. I am highly considering going there to look for a gown, and I just wanted to get some feedback from people who had been there, for one reason or another. Looking for a salon that will really consider what I want in a dress, take my opinions seriously, etc.

really really expensive. I could only spend $1000, and Klienfelds wasn't in that budget. Plus being a size 18, showcases and trunk shows not happening for me

I went with my sister when she got her gown at Kleinfeld, and I am DEFINIETELY going there. Their gowns START at $1000, but they have a HUGE selection. The only thing is that you can't look around on the racks, etc. you can bring in photos of gowns you like and tell them what you are looking for and they will bring you exactly what you described. They're really great and professional. The ONLY thing is that they judge you by the way you look when you walk in. When we went we werent dressed up or anything, so when my sister wanted to look at certain dresses they said 'well that's really expensive', and they brought her some of their lower end stuff, assuming that's what we were interested in. So I'd advise to dress nicely and be really clear on what you're looking for.

My experience:
They have an amazing selection. My saleswoman, although she did try a bit to convince us we should spend more (telling us the average price people spend was about $1,500-3k, that the less expensive the dress the more synthetic the fabric) she was still great about sticking to my budget, which was between $1-1.5k.
She actually did let me browse the racks while she picked things out, and while I was sticking with the plainer dresses (no beads, some pleats) she picked out the one I ended up buying... with embroidery and beads! Go figure.
I think it's a great place to start looking, instead of going around to tons of smaller places.

The shop is known all over the world for its selection, experienced salespeople, and top notch seamstresses. I am sure there will be isolated incidents where people aren't treated well, but all in all I think many of us take it for granted that we have such great resources in our backyards. I will be going there FIRST, when I look. My sister got her dress there and had a great experience.

My friend just got an Eve of Milady dress there. she said the ladies were really helpful. I heard it is expensive too BUT my friend got her dress for $1,00 cheaper there than she would have at Bridal Reflecitons (at a trunk show). Its worth a shot!

I am going on Sunday for a trunk show. If you like, I can FM you or just post an opinion. This is my first time out, but if you have to start somewhere, I guess it might as well be there.

I am also going tomorrow morning for the sample sale. I figured that I have to go there to try on dresses! I'll post my review when afterwards. Hopefully I get to take pictures!

Re: Anyone on here go to Kleinfeld? Know anyone who has?
I was just there about a week or 2 ago and it wasn't a great experience. They did let me look through the racks myself but I couldn't stand how bad they were judging me. I am a plus size bride but I also had a decent budget to spend on a gown - $3K - $6K - and they were just rude at times.
I loved an eve of milady so they had the seamstress come and explain about ordering sizes off of the eve of milady size chart. They said that it is impossible and the only thing to do is order the largest size and the Kleinfeld's seamstresses would add material on the side of the bodice and whatever beading they could but it would cost a LOT of money and there would be no matching embroidery - just beading. The seamstress never spoke directly to me and always to the associate helping me until I said 'I am buying the dress can you explain it to me'
I left there with a terrible taste in my mouth. I just bought the gown of my dreams at Valentina's this past Thursday. It is an eve of milady (not the same one) and when it came to the size charts Valentina herself measured me and told me that since I am slightly off of the charts and their gowns run small that eve of milady could make the gown in my size based on my measurements for an extra charge. The fact that Kleinfelds lied and said it couldnt be done just so that they would have to do all the work in house charge an arm and a leg for it was awful. Valentina told me that she could open it on the side and add the beading herself but for the extra eve of milady charge it would be worth it for the whole bodice to be one pattern with the same beading and embroidery.
This is just my experience and I am sure plenty of other brides have had wonderful experiences.
I disagree that you should have to go to any salon purposly dressed nicely to get wonderful service.
