Anyone read Taking Charge of Your Fertility
to PREVENT pregnancy?? I am currently on the pill but hope to get off of it soon (prob. after the wedding), esp. after I met with a dermatologist today. My hair is thin to begin with and lately it has become thinner. I still have plenty of hair though, thank god. When I told him I was on the pill he told literally told me 'Being on the pill is a great way to lose hair esp. if you go on and off of it.'
He said the reason is b/c the pill simulates pregnancy. But we don't want to TTC for a couple of years and condoms cannot be used b/c I'm allergic. So to those that have read TCOF, is it a good book to help prevent pregnancy? Does anyone know exactly what the method entails?? If not, is there another book you recommend?
Thank you

Re: Anyone read Taking Charge of Your Fertility
Sorry, I haven't read it, but sounds very interesting...I am an emotional wreck of late and I suspect it's because of my birth control. I take Yasmin and it's by far been the best experience w/ the pill I've ever had, but I still do not feel 100%.
I'm very curious to know about the method in this book!

Re: Anyone read Taking Charge of Your Fertility
I read the book for purposes of TTC. But having said that - I also thought when reading the book about how I wish I knew this stuff before becuase it would be a great method for birth control.I don't know anyone who has used it for that purpose - but check the author's website. www.tcoyf.com - there are many women who have used the methods described in the book sucessessfully for birth control.
Good Luck!

I ordered it but still dealing with UPS on delivery issues... They can't seem to do their job right. I am not sure I would risk it though, unless getting preggo is something you won't be terribly upset about.Re condoms, have you tried using the non-lubricated and putting lubricant on them? This worked for me. And then, they also have sheepskin condoms if you're allergic to latex.

I have been on and off the pill twice, not currentlly on it. I had no idea it could make you have thinnning hair. I was on the pill for medical reasons more so than to prevent pregnancy. That book sounds very interesting...I would defintely give it a read.

We would rather wait to get PG, but if we did get PG we would be very happy. We def. want children, but want to wait due to my career (I just passed the bar exam).
No I never tried those other condoms. Thanks for the info!

Re: Anyone read Taking Charge of Your Fertility
I think sheepskin are less known b/c they are a little more $$$ and also aren't the best at preventing STD's and preggo, but are probably better than nothing. Just not as good as latex.Welcome New Vendors
