Re: anyone really good with APA format
if you are only paraphrasing 2 or 3 lines(all from the same work) but in 2/3 separate sentences...do u need to cite after each sentence??? or just after the 3 sentences?
for ex: Daniel’s parents were very upset over this accusation of neglect. Daniels mother had been treating him with “herbal supplements, vitamins, ionized water, and other natural alternatives.” (Associated Press, 2009b) The Hauser family believed that the chemotherapy was an “assault upon his body and torture when it occurs over a long period of time.” (Associated Press, 2009b) The family’s lawyer stated that “They believe that it is against the spiritual law to invade the consciousness of another person without their permission.” (Associated Press, 2009b)

I could be wrong, but I think you would have to do it all three times.... I was always told, better to cite all rather than not do it properly

SonOfCitationMachine.com is what I used for ALL of my papers in college. It helps with the citations, and reference formats.

I think if it's from the same source and the sentences are not separated from another sentence with a different source, that you only site it once after the last sentence. I'm not 100% sure though. Any college professors on this site???!!!! Anyone out there??!! Thesis was so traumatic for me last year I blocked out the info! LOL

Re: anyone really good with APA format
No you dont have to cite it all three times. As long as you have the same author in a paragraph you can cite it at the end. If you are using direct quotes, you can just quote the author...For example, 'Smith states....' and then you put the page number at the end of the paragraph. A really great reference book is the Little Brown Handbook. It has APA, MLA and other writing styles. I have used it forever. HTH!
