what did you think of it? it was wayyy too much on the fictional side for me..... but it wasnt bad. i dont think they should have called it a true story. it was obvisouly very loosely based on it. it was weird seeing things like 'deer park, long island' etc!
so... has anyone saw it b/c i have a question about it and i dont want to give anything away to people who havent seen it.

no, i know!!!! but c'mon, i HAD to see how it compared! nah.. my mom asked me to go with her yesterday when i came home to visit. so i went! but yeah they need to STOP making them!
eta: it was an ok movie as long as you dont think of it as 'the amityvill horror' hope that makes sense.

the review in the post...or was it the news, don't remember, said that it was the worst remake ever. there is no point in making a remake of a horror film if you can't make it scarier! they also said the actors have zero chemistry and sound like they are reading cue cards.

i dont kow if i would go as far to say that. um... they certainly had no reason for remaking this movie. plus, it was 110% different.
what bothered me about it is that it was SO hollywood and they obvisuly just made a movie, took teeny bits of the 'true' story and called it the true story, the amityville horror.

I saw most of the original yesterday. Not only was it not scary it was ridiculous and there was NO way I was going to believe that any of those were true events
