Anyone know if she's okay?? I just know that she was complaining of pain in her side & some were worried that it was appendicitis...
Does anyone know where that wound up??? I had a rough and busy afternoon & may've missed it....

So glad you're feeling better. And if pre-cana is not as fun as you're hoping, the muscle relaxers should help make it more bearable.

i know, once the doctor said its appendicitis i was like oh great im gonna have surgery this weekend...but i just looked it up and here is info about it:
There is a small group of patients in whom the inflammation and infection of appendicitis remain mild and localized to a small area. The body is able not only to contain the inflammation and infection but to resolve it as well. These patients usually are not very ill and improve during several days of observation. This type of appendicitis is referred to as 'confined appendicitis' and may be treated with antibiotics alone. The appendix may or may not be removed at a later time.

wow. this totally explains why when i had appendicitis when i was 9 they didn't take it out. I was in the hospital on an IV for 3 days and then they were like okay you can go home and i was like 'WHAT!?!?! take it out, I don't need it anyway!!' lol. now i get why they did that!

yeah i was confused too, but i guess if you catch it in the beginning before it does any damage it can be treated...I read also that some doctors will still take out your appendix even if it seems normal just in case they missed something but guess it depends on the doctor...but even now i have to monitor myself very closely, if i get a fever the doctor said to go straight to the ER, or even if i feel nauseous and of course if it still hurts after the meds

that's what i thought - you don't need it anyway so why not get rid of it. esp as a kid; it's more dangerous as an adult.
my mom's appendix burst while she was pregnant and she almost died supposedly so definitely be careful.

i guess it depends on the situation and like i said depends alot on the doctor...also im gonna guess it can depend on a persons insurance, if they are not covered and it can be treated with antibiotics they'd rather do that rather than have a person spend money on a surgery that is not needed...he did ask me about my insurance regarding the catscan and i said yeah my insurance will cover all of this. But i think for him it was if you dont NEED to have surgery then try the meds first.
OMG that is scary, so sorry...yeah ill definitely be careful, if it happens again ill probably just go straight to the ER...i usually am good with going to the doctor when something bothers me, id rather just go even if its nothing to have peace of mind

i'm the same - i have no fear of doctors. like right now i really want to go to a derm for my skin and scalp because i'm ALWAYS itchy. But sorry not to go off topic - i hate all the insurance issues with doctors. I hear so many stories like that.... like how they kick you out of the hospital after like a day and a half when you have a baby even though you aren't ready to leave just yet b/c of insurance companies not wanting to pay... they did that to my sisters and it made me so mad b/c at the hospital they at least got to rest more
