Anyone splitting up their bridal party at reception?
I wanted to seat my BM and their dates at one table and the groomsmen and their dates at another table. My sister, MOH, asked if I could sit her seperately from the bridal party to sit with some of her friends that I'm inviting. Would that be wierd?

I am splitting up the GM and the BM, and then including the reader at the BP table, I don't think it is wierd to seprerate them. At my Brother's wedding we all sat at different tables.

I think that splitting them up to sit with whomever they would have the best time with is a great thing to do!!! I think it would be much weirder to make the people closest to you feel uncomfortable just for the sake of formality.

All of my BP sat with their friends/family- they were spread out over multi tables. It was not weird at all.

ours were split up. I think all the GM were together at one table with others, most of the BM at another table next to the GM, and the other 2 girls at a different table. I sat them with people they know and would have fun with.

I was originally going to do 1BM table and 1 usher table but it isn't wori ut tt way. So there will be 2 bridal party tables but they will be mixed up and I will also have my step-sister sitting with them.

I was in my cousins wedding and she split us up....it was nice because everyone felt comfortable with the people they were eating with.
Remember they wont be sitting much anyway because they will be up dancing day/night away!

My sister/MOH sat next to me, but if she had wanted to sit with her friends I wouldn't have minded. I had 4 other bridesmaids. 3 sat at one table, but the other and her husband sat with another group of people that she knew better. I wanted to seat everyone at a table where they'd enjoy themselves the most.

It's not weird at all. I personally feel the happier people are where they are sitting, the better the party.

We did and it worked out great. It is more weird to make them all sit together if they don't really know one another

Re: Anyone splitting up their bridal party at reception?
We're splitting up the bridal party. I think that they should be seated with whomever they feel comfortable with and will have the best time with. Also, those in the wedding party will want to sit with their significant others who will not necessarily be in the bridal party- so, no, I don't think it is weird.

We are sitting the BP with whomever they know best, just as if they were guests. Most of them either don't know each other, or know each other really well
