My photographer offers this as a backup incase it rains... I'm wondering if anyone has pics or experiences with this?

Re: Anyone take pics at rainforst in EAB plaza??
I plan on doing this if it rains. My mother works in EAB Plaza and she always use to tell me how beautiful it was and two weeks ago I went to meet her for lunch and it really is beautiful. It has a huge waterfall and all these tropical plants. In the spring they also put out spring flowers right now they had pointsetta's out. Check it out the building is open saturdays and sundays

Re: Anyone take pics at rainforst in EAB plaza??
for a june wedding im sure it would be fine - i got married in the POURING rain in October, and we went to EAB (we had to purchase a ticket for $150 I think, to reserve a spot in case we needed it) - I would NOT recommend it in the fall - when we got there I was shocked to see huge balloon scarecrows, pumpkins, etc. all over the 'rain forest' - it was hard to get even one picture where these cartoon things weren't in the backround.

Re: Anyone take pics at rainforst in EAB plaza??
I had my pictures taken there bc it poured on my wedding day. I got married in June and I thought the place was nice. Our pictures came out gorgeous. Especially the ones w/ the waterfalls in the background. We had to pay $300 to take our pictures there. We paid it as a back up just in case it rained and thank god we did bc our wedding day was a wash out.
FM i fyou have any speicfic queistons.

I don't recommend that place. if not for any other reason, but the tropical conditions in there--not condusive to a good hair day, if you get my drift it's waaaaaaaay humid in there. i would rather see people put the money towards old westbury gardens (which is cheaper in the winter) & use their indoor facilities. I know someone who got married last march and did this and the pics were really beautiful. JMO though!

I worked there for a while, and I agree it's nothing special at all. Just my opinion though.

You have to get a permit from Nassau County. It's over $100 to do it. We might, but I can't see paying $100+ for a permit we might not need...?

As per their website info:
'The beautiful glass atrium and waterfall known as the 'Wintergarden at EAB Plaza serves as the perfect backdrop for photographing your special occasions. The atrium is most commonly requested for wedding photography, but it is also used for photography sessions of Bar Mitzvah's, Anniversaries, etc. To view photos now, please visit our online photo gallery.
If you wish to reserve the atrium for a photography session, please have your photography studio contact Nora Gaetani at (516) 683-0339.
All bookings must be made by a professional photographer. The photography studio you have hired must be registered with EAB Plaza in order to take pictures on the property. The studio may also call the above number to get information on becoming a registered photographer.
The Session fee to the photographer's client is $125.00. Reservations should be made anywhere from three months prior to your special occasion, up until two weeks prior. After this, a $100.00 late fee will apply. Payment should be made to the photographer, who in turn, will make the booking with the Building Management Office.'
