Anyone use beta fish centerpieces, with flowers in the vases?
I've been trying to research this. Donna saw it used at a wedding. I've read that the betas can die easily?? I'm aware that peace lilies are used, and that might be what Donna had in mind, but would other flowers in the vase be poisonous to the fish? Please post pics, especially of red betas in a vase of wedding flowers. Thanks!!!! Mary MOB

I would be very hesitant to use fish in the centerpiece cause you know some of them will be dead and that might not be to appetizing at a wedding reception. JMHO

also - not everyone will want to take one home - leaving poor Donna with TONS of fish left over...
i wanted to do this but quickly realized that dead fish in a cp and all the leftovers would be an issue....

I did this for my SIL bridal shower years ago..everyone took the cp home with them! I dont have any pics on this computer but it was beautiful, guests still talk about it.
We pre ordered the beta and picked it up the day of the shower..they were all still alive..I actually kept one

I would reconsider doing this. Those fish die very easily and go into shock when they go into new water. Not to mention that their tails shed little pieces from time to time and if they poop it will make for a not-so-nice thing to look at while eating. Flowers that are submerged under the water in vases will hold up all day and night....much prettier too! JMO and HTH

Thanks, girls!!!! I think we've done away with this idea!!!! I told Donna the majority feel it's not a good idea!!! She is trying to think of ways to keep down a flower bill, or alternatives to flowers for the reception. Mary MOB
