I really like TJ's style but I'm a little worried b/c many of his photos are really dark (at least the ones on the Duet website). Any advice would great! And if anyone has an album by him they could share I'd be very appreciative! THANKS!!

This is my question EXACTLY. I currently have a choice between Sam and TJ if I go with Duet and I'm totally stumped as to what to do. I met with Duet and Patken this weekend but am also wondering if we should look into more photographer/videographer options at this point, hm...

I'd like to know too. I love his work, but it looks like he's taking pictures at a funeral instead of a wedding.
Any brides out there that can share TJ's photos and prove us wrong?

If its not out of your way can you go into their studio and look at the books they have of TJ?? I booked with him because I personally like the dark and artistic photos and his kept catching my eye.

I actually first noticed the darkness of TJ's pictures in the sample book Eric showed me this weekend when I went in. I thought I was crazy (and so did my fiance!) until I saw this post echoing the same thoughts! I would love to see wedding pics from brides who used TJ or Sam if possible. I searched the messages but only found 2 or 3 samples. Thanks!!!!

I am booked with him .... but I didn't pick him, Eric just told me that is who I had. I don't know if it's because it was his book I seemed to like more (I didn't know whose books were whose when I looked) or if it was who was available .... but I am a ittle worried now about this darkness ... I am meeting with him next week and will have to make sure I look at his books and bring it up if I notice it. I am sure he can lighten things up if you ask.
By dark do you mean dark lighting or dark as in despressing????

We are using him, I love the artistic look to his photos. THere are several people who have used him for E-Pics and their wedding pictures, I loved them. Some are Darker for artistic purposes, but you still see a lot and they are beautiful

Hi again, So I booked with TJ...I went back to Duet and explained my concerns with him. They said he put his most artistic (and i guess darker) photos on the website to differentiate himself from the other photographers, and show his specialized style. He also does all of the traditional shots
They said we will go over everything I want before the wedding anyway, and we can tell him NO darker photos if that's what we want. But I honestly think it will be fine...i saw some of his outdoor e-pic shoots on here and they were bright and cheery, etc. Plus I like the dark artistic photos...that's what attracted us to him in the first place, I just didn't want ALL of my photos to look like that. I'm feeling confident that out of the 3000 photos they supposedly take (with the 2nd photog as well) we will get a nice combination...
