I haven't found anyone to marry us yet and our wedding is alittle over 2 1/2 months away. Is anyone using a Justice of the peace or has anyone used one to marry them? I'd need some recommendations. Who else can marry us besides a Justice of the Peace when we are not religious? We don't go to church and never was baptised, so anyone have any ideas? Please help....
we are both non religious. and when I called some judges...they were not so nice...
so after some research...I found the Universal Life Church www.ulc.net
turns out that you can become ordained (FH, his friend and myself all became ordained)...its a 'church' for those who don't have options...but don't let the name fool you...if you go on the boards, you'll notice every philosophy is accepted.
so NYS allows clergy from a 'church' that has some sort of practice or worship center...ULC has one in California. I was even thinking of invitinghim and his FW over to talk about the ceremony and that would be our 'service' but its not necessary by law...

We are using a priest and a rabbi although we are not religious.....we didn't go through WCC, but they do help provide the clergy....call WCC and ask for Dr. Rosen's number-he may be available (he's the rabbi)-if one of you are Jewish. OR, he may know someone to help you-he works with WoodburyCC.
How did the flower search go?? Did you book Burtons?
Since both my FH and I are non-religious, we thought it would be best to have a garden ceremony with a Justice of the Peace. Ed Kiley is a former judge who is now a JOP. If you would like his info just to talk with him, I can give that to you. He also has ceremonies at his house if you can`t find a hall to be married in.
