anyone using a planner or day of coordinator?

anyone using a planner or day of coordinator?

as much as i think a planner would help and get me deals on stuff, i feel like we dont need one because we have so much time to plan. but i really think i want a day of coordinator, someone the day of the wedding who will take care of things so i wont be stressed that table 9 is missing a place setting and stuff like that. after looking into it tho, a doc is like, a grand, and a planner is obviously more but they do more work, so i'm not sure. whats everyone else doing? opinions on my situation are greatly appreciated

I am not using a wedding planner...but Perfect Wedding Planner comes compliementary through my hall...they have DOC's available, and I looked into how much it would be and for the 1 day alone it would be $1000!

i cant remember who i spoke with at the expo but it was two doc's for your day for a grand, they came in like a month prior and finalized everything, but still, thats a lot for really just one day. thats got me thinking, if a planner is going to be what, 2-3 grand, and they work with you for a while and get you great deals, why not?

Yea the girls would finalize everything a month before...maybe you are right...there might be 2 of them...How much do you think you would save in the long run with a planner??? Do you think that you would save money?

i honestly think i'd break even between deals and paying the planner. plus its someone who over time has gotten to know us and knows how to like, calm us down and keep us as un-stressed as possible

i just know when i get overwhelmed and stressed i tend to freak out and over-focus on one thing and i think a planner would definitely stop that from happening

then def go for it .... just lookound and make sure u get a good one because u wouldnt want to waste money on someone who makes u even more stressed

I think that if you can afford a planner, and you know that she might be able to help you ....then it will be money well spent!

No dont feel that way .... if u feel you self getting overwelmed in the end then get one for the day itself

i won't get a planner because i feel with the amount of time that i have its enough to plan everything. But i am definitely thinking about a day of coordinator, because i am such a control freak and get such high anxiety if i find out that things aren't going right. So i would feel sooo much better if i had someone that was in control of that for me the day instead of people having to ask me questions or any of my family questions that day. I want everyone to be able to enjoy that day and make as stress free as possible

I dont think I'm getting either one. I have lots of friends and family to help with everything and I'd rather not spend the extra money.

i'm using a DOC because i just want that sense of knowing that if anything does go wrong on the big day no one in my bridal party, me and FH, or any of our family members will have to be bothered with it...because that's the last thing i want on my big day is to be pi$$ed off with something

I am being my own DOC lol. I have been the coordinator for several weddings in New York, so I have a general idea, and I am too much of a perfectionist about certain things to hand it over to anyone else.
