You're my new best friend. That's the best poster I've ever seen - no offense to those that are or have mentally challenged family/friends.

ETA: It's a JOKE folks...

A joke that is offensive, AHHHHH this thread is getting worse and worse

clear labels cant be cheap if it cost more to buy them than to print directly on the envelope

It was actually FREE!!!!

I had our supplies guy here at work order nice ones for me. I consider it my firms contribution to my wedding!!!!

So I guess that makes me even MORE CHEAP!!!!

And clearly I can 'take' what I 'dish out' because I can't even count how many things I liked that ahve been called tacky or people said they hated it, and I did NOT jump all over them, at all

I , for one , would never call anything anyone did tacky or cheap looking, that is just me. Let it go already

That's the whole problem. You can say something looks too big or too small, too dark or too light, why can't you say it looks cheap? it's a meaningless taboo for no reason.

I didn't mean to be mean. Why do you care if I like labels or not? Big deal.

But why MAKE a big deal, make it PERSONAL and then say it's nothing?

That's the only thing that's bothering me. otherwise, can this be over? Thanks

My intention was never to make this personal, I couldn't care less what you think about labels, I was trying to make a point, that you obviously are not getting so, yes, it is over !!!!

Obviously I am, since I apologized 20000 times for not putting it more nicely. I'm not a mean person, maybe I need to learn to be more diplomatic. So sue me. I'm not perfect

Dude...

PEOPLE THROW THE ENVELOPES OUT!!!!!

Re: Anyone using clear labels and a computer printer for invitations?

I agree..people throw the envelopes out...I know ehen I get an invite I usually don't think about the envelope! I decided to save the money on calligraphy and out it towards something else that I wanted at my wedding!

But if you can afford it...go for it! It's all about what makes you happy...cause if you don't get it and really wnated it..you'lll always think of that everytime you see that invite!

I just sent out my 'B' list and I didn't have time to send them to the calligrapher, so they got labels

I stay out of all the drama on this forum, but feel compelled to say something here....

It blows my mind that a thread about labels can cause so much drama.

Can't it just be left that eveyone has their own opinions? Isn't that what this is about? Asking for advice?

I think people tend to lose sight of the fact that this is the internet and the written word can be taken very differently than how what saying the exact same thing with the spoken is taken.

Are labels REALLY worth all this drama?

Enjoy every minute of planning your weddings, you want to look back and have good memories of it, because your wedding day will literally be over in the blink of an eye. The first thing I said to DH after our wedding on our way home that night, was....'All this planning for 8 months, and it's over just like that!'

Let's just remember why we're all here.

very true!!!

LADIES!!!!

I go off line for just a few friggin hours, and the whole thread falls apart????

To tell you the truth - I totally forgot I started this thread because I've had to catch up on so much work after being sick - I'm tooling around 0- and I see my thread - I'm like - oooh yeah - clear labels... 97 responses???? What the HELL could ALL these ladies have to say about clear labels????

And the funny thing is, I just checked out Marymoons 'Sorry' thread - and I'm like - oh sure, more drama I missed - and lo and behold it's in my own backyard!

Forget it - I'm just emailing all my guests and telling them to come to my wedding - to hell with invites!

No - the thing is - I'll be using my dad's super-charged printer at work. YES - we will probably be using the clear labels, looks like we have a variety of women with a variety of responses, and I'm in the camp of - it's a 6 hr party. It's not my whole life. People will chuck the envelope. People will call my stepmom and ask why we used a label. People will call and ask why it's on a Saturday, and why the invite is at 12, and why they were invited as a single, and why is the sky blue and all sorts of random questions, because I have come to the conclusion that there are 2 types of people.

Lovers.

and Haters...
