ANYTHING YOU WISH WAS IN YOUR HALL CONTRACT?

ANYTHING YOU WISH WAS IN YOUR HALL CONTRACT?

FI and I are going tomorrow to book our hall.

Just wondering if there is anything that I should make sure is included in the contract?

I know I do not want any beer bottles in my pics so I am asking that all beer be poured into glasses. We also got a grilled shrimp station thrown in which I will make sure is in the contract.

Should the contract include names of liquor/beer, number of servers per table, number of bars and bartenders, # of valets, # of bridal attendants, etc? I am still interested in chair covers so I will ask for them (or at least use of the prettier cocktail hour tables for my party.

I just do not want to leave anything out.

Thanks much.

I say yes to certain things. We did have it in writing that shrimp platters would be included for us and the guests and they went ahead on their own and added 4 stations and all the extra h'ourdevres so that was nice..I asked for the carpets to be vacuumed..windows to be crystal clean, no curtains at all,etc..all these things were put into the contract but honestly I didnt list every detail...They were on top of things.

Wow! I didn't even consider that the carpet would not be clean. Thanks.

I plan to ask for rolling bars. I think 4 bartenders is enough for 150 - or is that too many? I do not want guests waiting for drinks. I also plan to have the contract state that waitstaff will take drink orders.

Stuff like extra staff means extra $$ to halls. Usually you'll get 2 bartenders. We had 2 for 130 people and the staff as well. So 4 ..maybe becasue you are having more..I learned just ask..

We are inviting up to 193 but the minimum is 150. I plan to stagger invites so we only get 150 - 155. I do not want 192 to actually show up.

2 bartenders with the wait staff taking drink orders too may be okay. Not sure? I know some people will be impatient and just go get there own drinks but I'd like to have cocktail servers taking drink orders.

I never had this issue really so I cant help you there..but I do know that some bries hired stuff like bridal attendeat etc..maybe they will work with you but 4 bartenders may be a bit much for them..One weddin we went to hade 250 people and 2 bartenders.

2 bartenders with 250 guests sounds awful. I would need at least 4 for that many people - or some cocktail servers.

Russos has cocktail servers and waitstaff. Then again they are $22 pp more than Jericho for the same date/time.

Yup, the chocolate fountain. But in my defense I had never seen it before until I heard about it on LIW and saw it at an expo. I will get it and I will get for the price I want, I have a plan.

I have thought about that but I can imagine the front of my dress covered in chocolate once I stick my head underneath the spout. LOL LOL

Also make sure you have in your contract when and how many bridal suites you will have. We're getting married at the hall, so we made sure we had 2 suites--one for me and one for FH from 3pm on.

The only suite I saw I upstairs. There must be one downstairs for the other wedding? But I do not think 2 suites is an option? I have to ask though. The BM asked if FI would want a suite so maybe they do have 2?

Thanks!!!

Katrina- There are two bridal suites up by the Dome Room. Ok, you know when you walk up the stairs, there is a room right there (I never knew it was a room until the night of the showcase). That room's bridal suite is down the hall from the Dome Room's. Did you see the Dome Room's Bridal suite? Also, not sure if you know (I didn't until wed night) that other room by the Dome Room is the Penthouse Room, holds upto 240. I was a little upset at first, but quickly got over it. Oh, and we have an appt on Sun at 4pm with Mike C. to book!! YEAH!! Good Luck tomorrow, PLEASE FM me when you get back, I want to know how it went!!! And let me know if they throw in the chair covers!

Did you decide to book Glen Island? If that's where you're talking about, there is the one suite off the cocktail hour room and then there is a second suite on the first floor across from the ladies room--on your right side when you walk in. That's the suite FH will be using.

No, we are thinking Jericho Terrace but now I am totally rethinking spending tons of cash on a wedding at all. I am supposed to go book today but I am just running the numbers and not sure if I can commit to it. It's not even that we cannot afford to do it with BIGLAW backing me up. LOL LOL I sold my soul to the devil years ago. LOL LOL

I just don't know about spending $20K - $25K for a 5 1/2 hour party.

LOL! I sent my friend an email yesterday saying 'I now have a Blackberry. It's official: I've sold out' I know what you mean though about the $$$. It's very unsettling how quickly costs can get out of control.

We don't have the electronic leash - not yet at least. I may be speaking too soon.

It's weird to me that wedding expenses are bothering me so much. I can spend a ridiculous amount of money on a purse but I am just not comfortable with $25K for a party. I guess my priorites are screwed up.

This radio host, Wendy Williams, talks about eloping all the time. She went to the justice of the peace and it was all over in a few minutes I guess. I need more formality but maybe not $25K worth of formality.

Just wanted to throw in that the rule of thumb is one bartender per 50 guests.

GL! Get as much down in writing as you can!
