Applying for a job question...

When you send your resume electronically for a job posted on one of the job sites...if there is a number should you call to follow up?

Is this a must?

When do you call?

What do you say??

You can call the number to see if they received your resume.

Just say, 'I was wondering if you received my resume for the _______position and I was wondering if and when I'll be contacted.

can i just tell you - this is a no no in my book. i work in HR and get literally hundreds of resumes per year and hundreds of follow up calls, and just to be honest - it is a major annoyance. if someone referred you, or if you already had an interview, then no problem. otherwise, they will call you if interested.
