Apt VENT

UGH! So we went to go look at three more apartments...

Now. tell me if I am right or wrong for getting upset, FH laughs at me..

we told the realtor our MAX is 1,200 a month. 1,250 if everything is included.

This woman shows us three places, very nice ones, two were 1350 and one was 1400 WITH NOTHING INCLUDED.

Like, why waste our time? you KNOW we can't afford anything near that, I was getting so mad. And the last place was amazing, of course it was the 1400 one.

FH was like 'you are so funny, why are you getting so upset?'

really!?

We are trying to find a place and we tell them 1200 no more than that and they show us places 1400 with Nothing included! thats just ridic!!!

meh.

I told her to widen her search we will literally live in any town around here. hopefully she'll find something.

we have been to two realtors, we just called another last night lol

vent over.

literally anywhere lol we are both from floral park so we'd like to stay close to home. i work in garden city he works in freeport, so anywhere near there too

I know! I think because our credit is so good, she probably figures we can afford a more e xpensive place...um no! haha

i hate when they do this! you fall in love with a place and you can't afford it. i know they show it to you because they prob think that maybe you can afford it if you stretched but they really should look to keep it as close as possible to your budget

That stinks. That's like on these bridal shows when a girl says I can't afford to spend more than $2K on a dress, they show her one, she falls in love, and it's $2800. That gets me crazy.

I think men are just too easy going sometimes....like when the say things like 'don't worry, it'll all work out.' NO, I make this much every month and you make this much. Unless we are planning to not eat and not have a car, its not happening!

You tell that Realtor that if she shows you one more apartment that's over budget then she has to personally make up the difference every month after you move in!

My friend lives in an apartment building on Merrick Road in Lynbrook and I know an apartment just opened up. It's $1200 plus utilities. I can find out more info if you'd like.

Good luck!! Yea check Craigslist!! Found my apt there through a realtor. Apparently they lack the necessary listening skills. Find a different one!

ITA...FH and I found our new place on Craigslist. It can't hurt to look a little on your own too. Who knows, you might luck out and find a place without a brokers fee. Good luck!!!

We check everyday lol. We've been calling some on craigslist but they either don't call back or the place has been rented argh..I need patience lol
