Are bubbles played out?

We can not throw rose petals at the church so I was thinking bubbles, but are they played out now..i feel like there was a time everyone used them now no o ne uses them. TIA

I have heard that bubbles can stain a brides dress.

I used bubbles and it worked out great! I do want to mention that my sister used rose petals and THEY stained her dress. Luckily, her limo driver told us to put vodka on it to get it out. We were skeptical but it worked!!
