Just curious- I don't think FH's parents are going to give us a dime for our gift- it will probably be some stupid gift like they gave at the Eparty.... but what about your inlaws???

Is this like some sort of old tradition that nobody does anymore? I could swear I read the FH's family pays for honeymoon on the knot or something. When I asked my FMIL she said 'NO WAY, UNLESS I CAN COME ALONG WITH YOU TWO.' I was like, whathefunk? I swear, it's funny. She has offered to take us on all of these trips with her. Rent a condo for us with her down the shore, etc. But if she's not there, no way... I personally think she's all talk anyway, seeing as she has never taken us anywhere other than the diner. Ha ha! I'm such a biatch. I know.

We are paying for the wedding, rehearsal dinner and honeymoon and anything else wedding related completely by ourselves and neither one of us would expect it to be any other way.

FH's parents are throwing us an engagment party and thats it...but we are still buying favors and stuff for the eparty. Everything else is 100% us...

My FH parents just gave us our honeymoon to Hawaii for our engagement party. They said it would be a gift for the engagement and wedding! It was very generous and very unexpected! We are super grateful!

FH's parents are paying for the rehearsal dinner. That's it. They said thats all they are 'supposed to' contribute. I saw on a lot of websites that FH's parents are 'supposed to' pay for the HM (I don't give a crap about what they are 'supposed to' do, but if they are putting so much weight on it.. ) but they said no, that's not how it is.
At least you got an engagement gift from FH's parents...

Nope!!! They wouldnt be able to afford it. FHs mom said she might be able to swing the invitations... My parents are going to pay for my HM!! where ever that might be

Nope- the honeymoon is all me and FH. But his parents are super generous and have helped us with other parts of the wedding!
I totally forgot! FH's parents offered us a week with their time share and we were soooo close to using it with Hawaii- but then it turned out that it was still going to cost the same as our Brazil trip with the flights and adding 3 nights on another island. So we turned it down. But I thought that was very very nice of them!!

As of right now every wedding related expense is on us (except my dress...my mom wants to get that for me). But judging by the e-party gift, I expect a very generous gift from FH's dad.

I think they’re paying for most, if not all, of it. I kinda feel bad because FH kinda tricked them. They’re Swedish, and he pulled the whole ‘That’s how things are done in America!’ card. But they are super dooper rich and actually excited about paying for it, so whatever.
