Just curious- I don't think FH's parents are going to give us a dime for our gift- it will probably be some stupid gift like they gave at the Eparty.... but what about your inlaws???

We are paying for the wedding ourselves. But FMIL keeps saying that she is going to pay for this and that... So she wants me to pick out the BP gifts and she wants to pay for those, she wants to give us money toward the photographer and videographer, and she is paying for our honeymoon.... I love my FMIL LOL... Ive always gotten along with her really well and I could never have asked for better inlaws... Weve been close since day one.

Exactly!!!!!!!!!!!! It's like- they follow tradition 100% when it comes to the brides family footing the bill for the wedding- but then when it comes to their end of the tradition they clearly skipped that chapter in the etiquette book!!

My in-laws didn't pay anything for the wedding, but they did pay for our entire honeymoon.

Actually my FH's parents aren't paying for anything. They may pay for the Rehearsal dinner. But, they feel they are not responsible for having to pay for anything.

FH's parents are paying for our band, which is a HUGE help. I don't expect anything else but they are very generous so you never know.

DH's parents gave us 2500 before the wedding and 2500 the day of and they told us it was for the honeymoon, but it helped with other stuff too, since our honeymoon was less than 5000.
but this gift came a month before the wedding, so it's not like they said when we got engaged, here's some $$ for your HM - i was actually shocked when they gave us the first check, because i didn't think they could afford to help with the wedding at all!!

but his amazingly generous uncle did pay for it as a surprise for us. We went to pay the balance on it and it had been taken care of. He is the best!
