Plan or keep the top of your cake? Ours is sitting in our freezer but we just realized today that it was never wrapped up its just in the box. Is it bad luck if we get rid of it???

I would wrap it... We'll keep ours but there is no way it'll make it until our 1 year anniversary. We'll probably eat it when we get back from our HM!!! LOL!!!

There's no way FH is going to eat 1 year old cake. He's very very very crazy about old food, expiration dates, bacteria, microbes, etc.

Everyone I know that saved their top tier for a year said that it tasted like straight-up @ss a year later.
Someone told me that we should instead eat it on our one-month anniversary, so that's what we'll be doing.

we had some of ours on Valentine's Day...we're moving over the summer, so it's definitely not going to last a whole year.

We ate it the next day! lol. We planned on keeping it but the next day we both wanted it so we were like '...are we REALLY gonna save it for a YEAR??' so we just ate it.

Tradition says to 'keep it' and I think we will but I agree that I will not be planning on sampling ours after it's been in a freezer...LOL. I have a few girlfriend's who had the bakery/baker who made their wedding cake make a small anniversary cake for them that is similar to their wedding day cake. Just a thought!!
