I am covering for our office manager while she is on her HM. One of my 'wonderful' duties is to answer the 'wonderful' phone. Can't tell you how much I 'looooove' doing that
Anyways, most people calling have no phone manners. They either demand to speak to someone or information about the company without introducing themselves or provision of any info about themselves. And they expect to be helped!!! W T F????
And other callers are just azzholes that do not know how to say hello or bye! Just hang up on me!

Welcome to my world. I have to answer 5 dif lines and each line I have to say something dif...I hate answering other ppls phones..............sometimes I feel like calling the ppl back that hung up on me and just hang up on them..lol

Yeah, I CRINGE when the phone rings! By now, a lot of our clients know me, but sometimes people call and for the life of them THEY WON'T GIVE ME THEIR NAME OR A MESSAGE!! Sometimes I ask 3 or 4 times and they're like Ok i'll call back later. In the end, you know what these people want? Our address and/or fax number. WHAT THE EFF IS THAT?!!?!!?!? It drives me up the walls!!

Becca I just read urs, and got all pissed off all over again! That's the majority of calls here. SO EFFIN ANNOYING!!!!

One of the worst clients in the world just called. I can't stand him!! He's pompous, a blowhard and just the most arrogant individual! UGH! His own brother thinks his wife does witchcraft (i find this incredibly hysterical btw). So this guy calls and DEMANDS to speak with the accountants. I've had issues with him in the past so now i 'kill him with kindness' as they say. I hate it, but it gets me off the phone with him in record time (we used to fight!). Anyway, I told him no one was available and he got mad. Whatever. The accountant was like 'why doesn't he tell you what he wants??' I said, 'because he's a jackass!' Meanwhile, there's another client here! He's cool though, we get along really well (When he calls, he says, 'Hello Beautiful'). THEN the accountant says, 'He called from a private number right?' I said 'Yes, otherwise I'd be prank calling him!' So the nice client was like, 'Is that what you do with me????' Aww! I felt bad! I'm like, 'No, you're nice to me!'

lol, i get calls like that all day! usually its somone soliciting.. they'll ask for 'so and so' and i'll ask 'may i ask who's calling' and they'll reply 'why is he not in?', rather then answering them I tell them 'i'd like to know who I am speaking with' then they'll give A NAME, no company info!? ***!?!?
half the time I hang up on them... if it IS a customer, its' prob someone who I'd rather not HAVE as a customer! (and 9times out of 10.. you can tell if its a customer or not)

How about when you answer and there's no one on the other end for 3-5 seconds? You like Hello??? THEN they get on the line and it's ALWAYS a solicitor.
Now, when I get the silence, I hang up. They're always asssholes/jerks anyway.

OMG this happens like every other call! I hate this. I really do. I have so much respect for ppl that do this on regular basis!
