Are there any brides to be out thee that are converting to Judaism?
Hey are there any other brides to be who's beloved is anothe religon, and they're converting? I not Jewish he is I'm going to convert, just wondering what the process was like? Any Tips ? advice?

My FH is Catholic and I'm Jewish. Neither one of us is converting, but I give you a ton of credit for doing that! I'm sure your FH is so touched!!
From what I have heard, a Rabbi can turn you down if you ask to convert. the reason for this is b/c he would want your persistence - meaning that you are 100% serious about the commitment to Judaism.

I know that our rabbi will turn people down who want to convert if their reason is to be like their spouse. He is concerned that it's not for the right purpose.

It's funny you should mention being turned down. A rabbi/professor form college toldus that it's actually quite common for the rabbi to turn you down a few times before saying yes, no matter who you are. it's to see how persistent you are. Also, if you're JUST converting for the sake of your FH, then #1) I think you should rethink it and #2) you'll have a hard time finding a rabbi to help you, but if you are doing it for the right reasons, I'm sure somsone will help you reform and conservative congregations will almost alwyas welcome converts. Also, it's a LONG process. It's not like you jump in a mikvah and you're done. In my understanding you have to study for months, maybe years

FH is Jewish (not very religious though) and I'm a non-practicing Catholic (that's what 12 years of Catholic school will do ).
Neither one of us is converting. We are being married by a Unitarian minister and we belong to a Unitarian fellowship in Huntington. Unitarianism sees the validity of all religions. They have inclusive beliefs not exclusive.
