I'm having trouble finding a 'cheap' alterntative for people that dont' want to spend $160. I would even settle for a 100. room, but every place I find is so ghetto-and I don't want them to think that I recommended it thinking the place was nice!

I dont know anything about Long Island as far as whats close to yoru hall, but in Roslyn there is a motel called the Gold Coast Inn, Im using it as an alternative for those who dont want to pay to sleep at the Claremont, FH and I went in asked to see rooms, to make sure they were clean and they were VERY clean, just not tastefully decorated, not bad, just kind of beachy themed, but they were clean and they are cheap!!! 84 for s ingle and 95 for a double!! if you book online at the holiday inn (in ronkonkoma, next to the airport) it is $99.00 a night. The place is really nice - we stayed there our wedding night - and they have a restaurant, pool and bar/club. The rooms are very nice and if you block 10 rooms you get a better discount.

we bolcked but also told people to go online and search if they wanted.....a few got good delas and several used priceline and we happy too!!

Did you check the Radisson? or Hampton inn? For a block of rooms they were going to charge my guests about 129. thats a little better than 160... Ask if they can do any better.

The Winngate Inn has very nice rooms for $119 per night... they are in Garden City.

BTW... Please do not be offended, but I would strongly recommend not using the Bar Harbor Inn... I live very close to it & it is a very sleazy place. If you want details, please FM me.
