I have an appointment with Spin around Sound on Thursday nite. I have seen DJ Unlimited (the cheapest of the bunch), and Big Hits (the most expensive.
Not sure if I've met the right DJ yet though....Trying to make my FI get active in this, this is more his area than mine..
Basically, don't want to get blamed for making a bad choice

Josie- I was thinking of going to RK Bridal and also a place called Charmet (sp?) on Bell Blvd in Queens. A girl friend of mine has gotten everyone of her BP dresses there as well as recently buying her wedding dress there.

thanks for the info, I would like to check out charmet, since I live in Manhattan its easier for me to check out RK Bridal (I want to call now!)
thats so funny regina, I have an appt. with Spin Around sound on Tues, when I called I spoke to Tom (the owner) & he sound very nice, I know I would like to get my FH more involved in this as well, he is helpful but I am doing all the research!

regarding the FI issue, that is me as well. We actually had a heated discussion on this one night and when I mentioned seeing DJs with me there was a little less grumbling then usual. What is with these guys, they want to have a nice wedding, but dont want to help plan it.

LOL regina, I definitely know what you mean, I tell my FH that you know its not that easy to book all these different vendors esp.when you want to get the best deal
i don't know whats with these men either but then again maybe us brides-to-be do a better job at researching all this stuff, making appts & getting the best place

LOL--thats what my fh would probably like to do as well don't they understand that this is a special day & we want to celebrate & commemorate it in the best way we can?!
I mean I know weddings can be expensive & its only one day, but there are ways you can save & cut back & still have a nice wedding

we should just continue to try & get the best vendors we can & then make the FHs do some work like--maybe they can take of the honeymoon arrangements,etc. so that way it can take a bit of the load off of us
Any other brides experiencing the same thing? Any tips on dividing the wedding planning work among you & your fh?

I am getting married on nov. 29th 2003, at the Riveria in Massapequa. So far, I have my dress,we have the photographer and video with Queens bridal. My dress is Paloma blanca and we ordered it from Bridal reflections in massapequa. We also booked our DJ they are IN THE MOOD. I hope to do Limos, BM dresses and Flowers real soon!
Oh and FI took care of the Honeymoon. We are doing a southern carribean cruise.
MY Friend got her dress at RK bridal and LOVES them. She had nothing to say but good things..

Hey Ladies!! I'm getting married on November 14th!! Im so excited! We are having it at the Swan Club. We are using Glenmar Studios for pictures and video. Also Spin Around Sound for a DJ. I recently found my dress in New hampshire, visiting some family, but i am ordering it from Lydias Bridal in Copaige. When are you guys going to register? have you yet?

Hi! I registered at Fortunoff. I could not believe the prices on china... I do not know who in my family would buy a set. I am thinking of Macy or Linen and Things too.
KimmisG- Do you have a picture of your dress? I heard great things about the Swan Club. Hopefully it will be warm out like last year.

I cant find a picture of my dress!! i have a photocopy from the catalog but no pictures. When it comes in i will see if i can take some! I dont want to register at fortunoffs anymore becasue of the prices. I was thinking Macys. i never thought of linens and things..hmmmm. yea we really liked the swan club when we saw it, i hope its nice out too, well i just hope for no rain!

Im getting married 11/15/03.
So far I booked the church - St. Marys in Roslyn Harbor
I have my reception, but still need to put a deposit down - Roslyn County Club
Have my florist - Mor Mile Florist in Rockville Center Have my photographer - family friend Ordered my dress - Demetrios and the Brides Maid Dress are finishing next week - Bill Levkoff.
And I'm moving Sunday out of state and in with my FH.

My florist told me he can get me any flowers I want. I hope this is true.
Also, I already registered at Fortunoff's and Bloomingdales. We have been getting a lot of gifts from people. It is exciting!

I'm getting married November 8th!!!! I am pretty much done with everything.
Reception: Flowerfield Dress: Paloma Blanca BM's: Dessy DJ: Montage Music Flowers: Laskaris and Farrell My bouquet will be ivory and leonides roses and the girls will have leonides and black magic roses along with mango callalillies wrapped in a burgundy stem to go with their black and white dresses. Photographer: Patken (Vinny) Makeup: JN Registry: Macy's/Fortunoff
I have my invitations and favors all set, just have to order them. I have my calligrapher also and the limos will be done next week.
Now I just have to figure out a way to pay for all of it
