Just wondering if there were any brides ages 30+ here. Or anyone who is getting married for the second time?
I'll be almost 34 and FH will be 37.

As an older bride, do you think you will (or did) anything different at your wedding then if you were in your early 20s?

I will be 35 and FH will be 49. I guess I fall into the older category.

Sure. We have more money than we did in our 20s so I think it's a little easier. I already own a house so we don't have that pressure. I think it's a little easier for older couples. I give younger couples a lot of credit...they have a lot more pressure (1st time homeowner or new apartment hunting, financial pressure, career growth) and most pull it off nicely.

I am 40, fh is 47. It's my first and his second. We are having a traditional (interfaith) wedding, but without the garter thing (I'm too embarrassed!). I think decisions are easier at our ages because you know more of what you want!!! :)

I was 34 DH was 41...first time for both...i didn't drink & get rowdy like i would've in my 20's (and did at friend's weddings) or have the garter, bouquet toss.......and we paid for the wedding ourselves...

Re: Are there any older or second time brides here?
i'm 31, DH turns 38 tomorrow. anything different had we been younger?? i don't know. probably wouldn't have had the big wedding and just eloped. i never dreamed of being a bride - he wanted the big wedding, i would have been OK w/ getting married at city hall and having a big dinner party afterwards.
ETA: this doesn't mean i didn't love my wedding, i absolutely did, it was just something i never thought i wanted.

I'm not doing the garter either. Everyone coming to the wedding is married except for the teenagers. I am the last!!!!!
